Fruits are medium to large in size, oval in shape.

One apple can weigh up to 350 grams. Take off harvest start from the second half of September. At this time, the skin of the fruit is colored in a green tone, after a time when the apple lies down and ripens, the skin becomes yellowish. The pulp of the fruit of this variety is juicy and dense, tastes sweet and sour, pleasant.

Care

Care

Apple tree sun-loving and heat-loving tree. Therefore, the seedlings are placed in open areas. In the shade or partial shade, the fruits on the trees will be less sweet and the yield will decrease.

The soil should be fertile, loose, and allow water and air to flow well to the roots.

Watering the apple tree:

  • The apple tree is not demanding for watering, especially an adult tree.
  • In the spring, it is recommended to carry out watering Once a week, it is also necessary to regularly give water to the plant during pouring and ripening of fruits.
  • But at the end of August watering cut in order not to stimulate the growth of young shoots, which do not have time to ripen by winter and can freeze during frosts.

The trees are fed in the spring. For this, biological and mineral fertilizers... Urea or saltpeter works well. In the autumn, during the preparation of the plant for wintering, you can add a portion of complex fertilizers... The next year after planting, gardeners recommend cutting off the flowers, leaving only 20% of the total mass on the branches. This is done in order to strengthen the root system and strengthen the upper part of the tree during the season.

Mature trees do not need shelter and insulation for the winter.

And for young seedlings, this issue is relevant. Gardeners recommend mulching the soil under the plant with humus or spruce branches. It is also necessary to install nets around the trunk so that the hares do not chew on the bark. This is also important for mature trees.

Landing

Landing

After choosing a place for an apple tree seedling, you must:

  • Prepare the pit. The size of the depression depends on the size of the earthen lump with which the seedling was brought. If a young tree is purchased with bare roots, the pit should be of such a size that the entire root system falls freely to the bottom.
  • It is recommended to mix the earth from the pit with vermicompost or humus, put a part of the finished mixture on the bottom and tamp it.
  • The seedling is lowered into the recess so that the grafting site is located a few centimeters above the ground. Many gardeners also recommend turning it south.
  • Next, you need to completely fill the hole with prepared soil and tamp it. Around seedlings form a recess for watering. It can be covered with pebbles, bark or compost to prevent moisture from evaporating from the ground after watering. Watering a young tree is necessary 2 times a day within 2 weeks after planting.

So that the tree grows evenly, and does not sway during the wind, especially in the first month of the planting field, it can be tied to pegs with stretch marks. If a young apple tree was planted bare root system, it is recommended to remove most of the leaves on the crown.

Pruning

Pruning

Pruning trees are carried out annually in early spring, usually the process is carried out before the buds begin to bloom. Pruning correctly is guaranteed to produce a bountiful harvest every year.

Gardeners recommend the first pruning after planting a seedling. In this case, it is necessary to remove a third of all branches. In this case, the crown will begin to form correctly from the early years of the tree's life, and when the fruiting age is reached, the tree will have the correct shape.

During the annual pruning, 1/4 of the branches are removed if necessary, no more.

Large trunks, if necessary, are cut off completely, leaving no lateral stumps. It is also recommended to remove branches that fall on the ground and those that grow in the middle of the crown. They leave strong and healthy shoots for further development.

Reproduction

Reproduction

Apple trees reproduce using seed and vaccinations... Hybrid varieties are difficult to propagate with seeds, as a result of which you can get a completely different variety or even wild.

Thus, you can graft a stalk from an apple tree of the required variety to another less valuable tree. The vaccination process is carried out in the spring, for this a healthy strong stalkcut at an angle. In the daughter young tree, all lateral branches are cut off, on one large one a deep incision is made at an angle, into which the cut of the cutting is placed.

The vaccination site is tightly closed with duct tape, plasticine or special material that can be purchased at a gardening store.

When leaves begin to appear and grow on the handle, this is a sign that the vaccination was successful. Bogatyr, the apple tree is quite resistant to various diseases... However, in the spring, it is recommended to treat the trees with special drugs.

In general, I love apples of winter varieties, they are tasty and healthy, moreover, they do not have an obtrusive, pungent, sweet taste. These apples are of course harder, but taste much better than other types.
