Early ripening potatoes
It's no secret that early potatoes are always very popular. And this is not surprising, since fragrant young potatoes, especially in combination with butter or sour cream and fresh herbs, you want to treat everyone, therefore, already at the beginning of summer, the demand for them is very high. In fact, growing early ripening potatoes is not that difficult. And with the right approach, the harvest can be obtained as early as mid-June.
In order to grow early ripening potatoes, you first need to choose the right potato variety for planting. In this case, you should pay attention only to early or ultra-early ripening varieties. Among the most suitable varieties can be named such as "Iskra", "Bryansky early", "Luck", "Vesna", "Zhukovsky early", "Impala" and a number of other early varieties.
Before starting planting, it is necessary to get the tubers intended for these purposes from the cellar at the end of February and until the middle or even the end of April, depending on the weather conditions, grow them in boxes placed near the heater. The optimum temperature for germination of tubers is considered to be a temperature of about 20 degrees, and the minimum temperature required for germination will be +16.
The largest and largest potato tubers should be selected for sludge, as they are much more likely to give good healthy shoots. Early ripening potatoes are planted in almost the same way as ordinary ones, but the difficulty in growing them lies in protection from frost, which, in principle, is quite simple to do with the help of special materials that can be used to cover and insulate the seedlings during frost.
And what temperature on the heater is better to set, so as not to spoil the "seedling"? And is it necessary to just put it at the heater if the temperature in the room where the boxes will stand is about 23 degrees?
There is no need to put a heater at this temperature, since early potatoes begin to germinate from 16 degrees. It meant that the season is cold, and if the boxes are in an unheated room. In your case, the room is already warmed up.
In our region, the climate is mild and potatoes are planted already in April and in June already, it is quite possible to get young potatoes, even from ordinary, not early ripening varieties. After harvesting potatoes at this place, it is quite possible to plant a daikon.
