General information about the Meatlider method

Dr. Meatlider has developed a special method that is suitable for growing almost all crops. It is designed to grow more vegetables in a small area of land. Even if at first glance it seems that the garden bed is too narrow for planting vegetables, the result will greatly surprise the gardener.

Planting potatoes according to the Meathlider is possible only with strict adherence to the technology. At the slightest mistake, all the work can be in vain.

Meatlider has developed a method that allows the garden bed to occupy only a third of the entire vegetable garden. The rest will serve as aisles.

Tips for growing potatoes:

  1. Throughout the entire growing period, you will not need to loosen the soil. It is dug up only once. The beds and the aisles should not be confused, they are no longer interchanged. Vegetables are fertilized only with mineral fertilizers.
  2. The main condition for the Mietlider method is regular abundant watering... If the water supply system is insufficiently equipped on the site, then it is better to refuse this growing method.
  3. The rules should be followed flawlessly, making only exceptions based on climatic conditions. It is necessary to switch to the Meatlider method gradually: every year the number of beds increases, for the first time it is better to make no more than 5 beds, each 4 meters long. In this case, you can look at the advantages and disadvantages of the method, assess the overall picture.
  4. The plot must be well lit... If the shade falls on the vegetables, the yield will suffer. The bed should not be located on an inclined plane. A horizontal surface is needed so that water with fertilizer does not flow down to the low-lying part. If it is not possible to use a horizontal surface, then terraces are installed.
  5. The soil is selected depending on the requirements of the vegetables. It is not recommended to use depleted soils, stony or waterlogged. If there is no place on the site with good soil, then install wooden boxes filled with the necessary soil.

Preparing the beds

Preparing the beds

Before preparing the beds, the soil is carefully dug up. You need to be sure that there are no perennial weed roots left. Now the surface needs to be leveled. Formation of beds and fertilization held on the day of planting vegetables.

The beds must be level, so twine and pegs must be used for accurate marking.

Low sides are installed along the perimeter of the beds. Garden parameters:

  • The height of the sides is 10 cm
  • Garden bed width - 45 cm
  • Bed length - 4-9 meters
  • Row spacing - 70-100 cm

Ridges and aisles must be clearly level. If it is not possible to level the surface, then the sections are divided into several more parts. Each part is fenced with bumpers, inside which you need to level the ground again.

Seedling or seeds are sown in two rows, trying to bring the material as close to the edges as possible. If the vegetable crop is large, for example, pumpkin, then it is planted in one row, but on the side, the center should remain free. In the middle of the garden, the plant may receive less light and nutrients.

It is important that the plants get enough water. The water should be soft and warm. Hard water containing magnesium, calcium and salt must be pre-treated.

The soil must be constantly wet... If the weather is hot, then watering is carried out every day. The water is distributed over the bed and directed to the aisle. After planting vegetables, the soil cannot be loosened, this can damage the roots.

The Meatlider method will not give a good result if you do not carry out a certain amount of dressings. The doctor himself prefers not standard feeding for all vegetables, but has invented his own system. The scheme by which feeding can be done can be found in the books of the doctor and other scientists who use the Meatlider system in different climatic zones. Each component must be taken in precise quantities down to the gram. After each top dressing, the beds are watered abundantly.

Growing potatoes according to the Meatlider method

Growing potatoes according to the Meatlider method

Planting potatoes according to Meatlider does not depend on the variety; you can use early, mid and late ripening potatoes. Before boarding, you need select the best specimens. The optimal weight of tubers is 50 grams; it should not show signs of disease and mechanical damage. Before planting, the tubers are processed in a foundationol solution - this will protect the plant from diseases.

The potatoes will fit in two rows in the garden bed. The distance between the tubers should be approximately 30 cm. The burial depth of potatoes is up to 10 cm.

In total, during the growing period, you will need to make 3 dressings:

  • The first is when shoots appear
  • The second - when the shoots reach 15 cm
  • The third - before the appearance of buds

For each bed (45 cm * 9 m), 250 grams of fertilizer mixture is applied. It is prepared as follows:

  • Lime / dolomite - 450 gr
  • Molybdenum compound - 15 g
  • Boron - 15 g
  • Magnesium sulfate - 450 gr
  • Potassium chloride / sulfate - 1 kg
  • Urea / carbomide - 1 kg
  • Ammophos - 600 gr

The second variant of the mixture:

  • Lime - 450 gr
  • Molybdenum compound - 15 g
  • Borax / borax - 15 gr
  • Magnesium - 450 gr
  • Potassium sulfate / chloride - 450 g
  • Ammonium nitrate - 675 gr
  • Nitrofoska - 2.7 kg

After fertilization, the potatoes are well watered, especially a lot of water is needed during the period of bud formation and flowering. To prevent the potatoes from eating the Colorado potato beetle, chemicals are used. Processing is carried out on average three times, it is also desirable to carry out two treatments for late blight.

Two weeks before the appearance of the crop, the tops are mowed. This activates the ripening processes of the crop.

When digging up potatoes, it is important not to damage the tubers, keep the shovel away from the bush. From the experience of gardeners, it can be noted that with the traditional cultivation method, 200 kg of crop can be harvested from 10 square meters, and 500 kg according to the Mitlider method. Before planting vegetables, the beds also need to be fertilized. For this, mix number 1 is used.

The fertilizer is fully balanced and consists of the following components:

  • Borax - 15.2 g
  • Nitrofoska - 450 gr
  • Dolomite / chalk / lime - 900 gr

The components in the fertilizer must be measured exactly to the gram.

Errors when growing potatoes according to the Meatlider method

Mistakes when growing potatoes

All the mistakes that people make when growing vegetables according to the Meatlider method are associated with inaccurate adherence to agricultural techniques.

The most common mistakes:

  1. Poor watering
  2. Wrong choice of fertilizer mix
  3. Incorrect preplant fertilization
  4. Unleveled ridges
  5. Incorrect ratio of components in the fertilizer mixture

Why is so much attention paid to watering the land? If fertilizers are applied in a timely manner, but at the same time forget to water the beds, then the nutrient mixture may not dissolve, so the plants will not be able to get them.In a place where the concentration of fertilizer is too high, the plant may die.

You need to water the garden every day or every other day in cloudy weather. This is due to the fact that according to the Meatlider method, vegetables grow in the surface layer of the soil, which dries quickly.

Fertilizing potatoes:

  • Concerning preplant fertilizer, you also need to be able to enter it correctly. It is not scattered on the ground in a chaotic manner. The error is the concentration of fertilizer at several points. Then the roots of not all plants will be able to get the necessary nutrition.
  • It will be correct to spread the fertilizer evenly throughout the garden. Then digging is done. It is important not to turn the clods over with a shovel, but to mix them. In this case, one should not rush and skip sections. On a large plot, it is advisable to use a cultivator.
  • Why use a special fertilizer compound? This is the network of the method: the roots of plants are collected on the surface of the bed, without spreading in width and depth. It is difficult for a plant to get the right amount of necessary elements, so they need to be added regularly on their own.

One of the most important elements is molybidene, it is a conductor between other substances and the plant. When buying ingredients in a store, they must exactly match those stated in the "recipe". Otherwise, plants may die from an overabundance or shortage of substances.

When composing mixture number 2, magnesium, potash, phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers are not used.

All this can lead to the ingress of manganese or iron into the roots. Even experienced gardeners are not advised to take jars that do not contain the exact amount of substances used. If it is not possible to fulfill any of the requirements, then it is better not to use this method. Although it seems that there is nothing complicated in it, nevertheless it is unique and effective.

Interesting information. WE have never fertilized potatoes before. They just put in sprayers and watered abundantly. The yield is average, it cannot be said that we collect a lot of potatoes. Let's try next year to make several rows using this method and fertilize. Let's see what happens.

The method, of course, deserves interest for an inquisitive summer resident.
But, in my opinion, the main criterion is the quality of the seed set, and the fertility, or rather the plowing and nutritional value of the soil.
And watering, for potatoes, is a secondary matter ...

In my opinion, this method produces very large aisles. In addition, mineral fertilizers gradually increase the acidity of the soil. Also, potatoes do not like the soil to be constantly wet and it is watered abundantly three times per season.
