Strong sweet pepper: variety description
At first glance, it seems that a plant like sweet pepper does not have a wide variety of varieties, and all the differences between the fruits are reduced solely to their color, due to the degree of maturity. However, any experienced gardener will refute this misconception and emphasize that bell peppers have an incredible number of varieties that differ significantly from each other. Let's take a closer look at one of the most common - a variety called sturdy.
The sturdy pepper is compact in size: the height of the plant bush rarely exceeds the mark of half a meter. Therefore, we can conclude that its name is determined not by its size, but by its yield, which is at least three to four kilograms per square meter. Strong pepper belongs to the early maturing varieties and develops best and bears fruit when grown in film tunnels (however, in warm regions, it will feel great in the open field). The fruits of the strong pepper have a conical shape with a weak waviness, their weight reaches approximately seventy grams, and the wall thickness is five to six millimeters.
At the stage of technical ripeness, the pepper is colored in a rich warm yellow hue, and when moving to biological ripeness, it turns red. Due to its taste, it is recommended not only for fresh consumption, but also for further heat treatment, as well as canning. Another undoubted advantage of the variety is the almost simultaneous ripening of the fruits, which makes it possible to collect a rich harvest at a time.
