Daylilies in the garden look very beautiful and decorative. Oddly enough, but this particular flower is considered the most unpretentious. It blooms profusely from May to September. Moreover, this perennial plant feels great both in the sun and in shady areas. But let's not forget that the flowers of daylilies that are planted in a sunny area are outwardly much brighter and more beautiful.

Growing daylilies

No matter how much they tell you about the unpretentiousness of these flowers, they still need to be properly cared for. In this case, they will even more easily cope with diseases and pests. Planting daylilies begins with proper soil preparation. First of all, it is processed to a depth of about 30 cm.

It is advisable to enrich the land with humus, peat or compost. If the soil is too clayey and heavy, it will be difficult for the roots of the flower to "extract" nutrients. Therefore, you need to add a little sand, gravel and humus to the ground. If the groundwater is high, then it is necessary to plant daylilies in high beds.

Daylily care is not too difficult. The main thing is to water it, but at the same time to prevent waterlogging of the soil. Despite the fact that the daylily is considered a winter-hardy plant, it must be "covered" so that the flower does not die out. Straw, dry peat, leftover sawdust or leaves can be used as covering material.

By the way, a daylily can grow in one place for as long as 10 years. As you can see, this flower can be planted not only in the garden, but also on any site that needs landscaping.
