Terry calistegia

A beautiful representative of the herbaceous vines of the bindweed family is terry calistegia. Like other plants of this family, it is unpretentious to care for. When planted in fertilized loose soil, it can even develop well, and even become an aggressor.

Typically, this plant is used for decorative purposes. In summer cottages, it is planted near a fence or other high fences to create beautiful flowering hedges. This kind of vertical gardening has been very popular lately.

This herbaceous vine is usually planted in spring. An open, sunny location is best. When planting a plant, it must be borne in mind that the length of one vine can reach four meters.

Terry kalistegia begins to bloom in July, if it is constantly under hot sunlight. When you are in partial shade or shade, you can expect flowering only by the beginning of August. Flowers of kalistegiya terry are of a beautiful light pink color. Despite the rather large size of one flower (diameter from 6 to 8 centimeters), abundant flowering is usually observed due to the presence of a flower in each axil of the vine. The flowering of terry calistegia, as a rule, continues until the onset of the first frost.

With hot summers with minimal rainfall, the herbaceous liana grows and blooms even without care, without being exposed to any diseases. However, in a damp summer, Calistegia terry can suffer from powdery mildew.

Despite this, many summer residents are happy to plant this ornamental plant on the site and enjoy its gorgeous flowering.
