Pumpkin seeds and their beneficial properties

The beneficial properties of pumpkin have been recognized and highly valued since ancient times. However, the ancient folk healers perfectly understood that not only the pulp of a vegetable is healing, but also pumpkin seeds, which contain a huge amount of organic acids, mineral salts, vitamins and many, many other substances necessary for our body. So, pumpkin seeds are a real storehouse of proteins, iron, phosphorus, manganese, copper, as well as various acids, in particular, linolenic, folic and glutamic, vitamins of groups B and E.

Pumpkin seeds contribute to weight loss, health and significant improvement in skin condition, have an extremely beneficial effect on the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, blood arteries and liver. In addition, they have a fairly powerful antihistamine (that is, antihelminthic) and even antidiabetic action.

All the useful substances of pumpkin seeds are concentrated in the unrefined seed. So, the peel, the seed itself, and also its top layer, which has a characteristic gray-green color, have healing properties. But the seeds that were amenable to heat treatment, that is, frying, lose the vast majority of all their useful properties. Pumpkin seeds are low-toxic and, most importantly, are very mild and never have any side effects. It is for these reasons that they are highly recommended for use by the elderly, young children and even pregnant women.
