Planting rowan - simple and useful

Previously, mountain ash grew in almost every household plot, but now it is a rarity to meet mountain ash. For some reason, many gardeners abandoned this familiar plant of ours, displacing it with overseas curiosities. Meanwhile, mountain ash can become a wonderful decoration of your site, and the use of its fruits will strengthen your immunity, which is especially important during an exacerbation of viral infections. And planting rowan will not burden you at all.
  • Plant in spring or fall.
  • Planting rowan is no different from planting other trees. Be aware that most varieties of mountain ash are self-fertile, therefore, to get a good harvest, plant several varieties of mountain ash at once, at least 2-3 trees. I "cooperated" with a neighbor on the site, she planted two different varieties, and I at myself. Now we are mutually beneficial neighbors.
  • Prepare pits for planting seedlings, depth 0.5 m-1 m, depending on the root system. The distance between vigorous seedlings should be 3-4 meters, and between low-growing ones - 1.5-2.
  • Add some humus to the planting pits.
  • Rowan adapts to any soil, but grows worse on sandy loam and sandy soils.
The most remarkable thing about this tree or shrub is its unpretentiousness, cultivation does not require something special and supernatural. For me, it grows by itself, sometimes I slightly shallow the earth around the trunk. When I fertilize other plants with a diluted mullein, pour a little under the mountain ash, but this is no more than 2 times per season. In the spring, I can put nitrogen under the tree.

I grind the fruits of mountain ash with honey and the whole family eat this mixture from autumn to summer, thereby strengthening our immunities.
