How to plant petunia seeds? Quick Start Guide
Knowing how to plant petunia seeds, you can decorate flower beds with these extremely beautiful, lush and bright flowers, arrange borders or even set up a real garden on the balcony or even on the windowsill. So, let's try to figure out how to plant petunia seeds.
What do we need? First of all, the seeds of the plant themselves (by the way, a large number of seeds in the package is by no means an indicator that the planting material is of high quality, it rather on the contrary suggests that the grown plants will be far from the standards of the variety). You will also need a light soil mixture, preferably peat with the addition of a small amount of perlite, as well as a spray bottle with water and a bowl with holes at the bottom. It is very convenient to use plastic cake containers with a lid for planting, having previously made small holes in them.
The soil must be poured into a bowl and thoroughly irrigated from a spray bottle. Petunia seeds are extremely small, so to sow them at least somewhat evenly, you should use the following technique: divide the soil surface into small squares, and the seeds into handfuls of the same size, and sow one handful per square. It is very important to emphasize that the seeds of petunia after sowing in no case should be sprinkled with earth. After planting, the bowl should be covered with glass or cellophane (if you used a container with a lid, just close it) and sent to the battery. If the radiator is too hot, it is better to place the container on a plastic window sill, which is also warming up.
I love petunia! She smells so good! And so smart! But I almost never managed to grow seedlings from seeds, I had to buy them all the time. But now I will know how to do it correctly. Thank you!
