Understanding how to sow lobelia

How to sow lobelia? This question is asked by all growers who want to get this purple cloud on their garden plot or balcony. At the same time, thinking about how to sow lobelia, most beginners are afraid to deal with seedlings, citing the fact that tiny seedlings that germinate from extremely small seeds will give them a lot of trouble. Indeed, there will still be some difficulties with growing this plant, but they are by no means so great.

When should you start sowing a plant? This can be done in the second half of winter. However, it should be borne in mind that this period is characterized by a small amount of sunlight, which means that the seedlings will need additional lighting in any case. If you decide to grow lobelia outdoors, sow the planting material at the end of March - April. In this case, her flowering will begin a little later.

It is also important to choose a suitable container for planting, as well as a soil in which the flowers will be comfortable. It is best to use small and shallow foam trays (chicken and meat products are packed in such containers in supermarkets), filling them with light and breathable soil consisting of a mixture of sand, ordinary garden soil and vermiculite. To sow very small seeds relatively evenly, all planting material should be divided into approximately equal piles, and the soil in the tray should be cut into equal squares. Then just sow in a bunch for each area. In this case, the seeds are poured not directly onto the soil compacted and moistened with Epin water, but onto a small layer of snow poured on top of it.
