Sweet pepper
As everyone knows, there are sweet and bitter peppers. Sweet pepper is also called Bulgarian. Although the homeland of pepper is Central America, it has long taken root in our gardens and dachas. Sweet pepper is not only a delicious vegetable, but also a multivitamin store.
Bell peppers contain more vitamin C than lemon or oranges. There is especially a lot of vitamin C in red pepper, its concentration is 480 mg%. Pepper fruits also contain vitamins A, B, various oils and mineral salts.
Sweet peppers are grown from seedlings. Seedlings must be at least 50 days old and have at least 8 leaves on the stem. It is this seedling that will give a good harvest of pepper. When planting seedlings, indents of at least 40-50 centimeters between plants and a similar distance between rows are made.
This plant is very dependent on the temperature environment. The optimum temperature for growing is from 18 to 25 degrees. Pepper does not tolerate frost at all, therefore even at 0 degrees the plant may die.
Watering sweet peppers should be done once a week at the initial stage. When the plant begins to bear fruit, it should be watered at least 2 times, depending on the weather conditions.
For feeding the plant, ammonium nitrate (10 g), potassium sulfate (15 g), and ash are added to the soil. Top dressing is carried out no more than once a decade. These fertilizers are diluted with 10 liters of water and applied to the bushes.
It must be remembered that when planting sweet and bitter peppers, they should not be planted nearby. In this case, the fruits of the bell peppers may be bitter. Good luck with your sweet pepper cultivation and a good harvest.
