Perennial - alissum rocky
A plant such as rock alyssum is a perennial with a height of 30 cm, which blooms from April to June, depending on the species, predominantly yellow in color. It is known that this species tolerates the cropping operation perfectly.
Interestingly, rock alyssum is also called beetroot. The latter belongs to the cruciferous family, of which about 100 species are known in the genus. In general, alyssum is a native of Central Europe. Also found on the shores of the Don and Dnieper, in the Balkans, the Caucasus. This plant is completely unpretentious. Forms voluminous and lush curtains that tend to grow into stone crevices. That is why rock alyssum is classified as one of the irreplaceable plants for rocky gardens.
The genus may contain both perennial and annual shrub and herbaceous species. However, the most important purpose is rock alyssum. It is grown as a cultivated plant in rockeries and rocky gardens. Along with such a plant, such species as are well cultivated:
- alyssum silvery;
- alyssum sea.
You need to know that the beetroot or alyssum is very fond of a dry landing site and light. For this reason, experts advise planting this plant in retaining walls, rockeries, rock gardens, rocky hills and wild gardens. Its shoots have a flexible shape with elongated oval-lanceolate leaves, which are collected in a rosette. At the end of the stems, yellow-golden small inflorescences are formed.
Alyssum reproduces quite easily. The seeds for this are sown during August. And in September, the resulting seedlings are transferred to pots. If further warm weather is noticed, then this plant can be planted in a permanent place in the ground.
