Care for cucumbers in the greenhouse

Cucumbers grown in a greenhouse need slightly different care than cucumbers grown in open ground or greenhouses, since the growing conditions differ significantly. The greenhouse is considered the most ideal place for growing all varieties of cucumbers, because there you are most subject to air humidity, temperature and soil composition. If you create good conditions, then the likelihood of a decent harvest is huge.

But initially, before planting seedlings or seeds, a greenhouse should be prepared:
  • remove all remnants of last year's plants;
  • disinfect or replace the room and soil (if pumpkin seeds grew in this place in the previous season, then it is best to replace at least the upper layers of the soil).

Preparation and fertilization of the soil: the soil must be prepared from equal volumes of humus, earth, manure and peat, if acidity is exceeded, then lime material should be added. The addition of wood ash to the soil will also be a huge plus in order to reduce the risk of contamination of cucumbers with various diseases. You need to fertilize the soil about a week before planting the seedlings, scattering fertilizers over the surface of the earth, and then digging up the ground, thereby seeding the fertilizers to the very depth of the fruitful layer.

Before planting cucumbers, the soil should be leveled with a rake, and then holes should be made in it at a distance of 100-150 cm between rows and 50-80 cm between plants.

After disembarking, it is best to make a fence around the ground strips or racks so that the cucumber lashes do not block the path (drive in the pegs along the path at a distance of 1-2 m. From each other and pull the rope or wire).

Temperature regime: at first, you need to maintain a temperature not lower than +17 at night and +20 during the day, until fruiting. From the beginning of fruiting, cucumbers need more heat - +25 ... +28. It is worth every effort to avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity, as this affects the harvest poorly.

Air humidity should be at a very high level of 80 - 90%.
Before the start of fruiting, you need to water cucumbers once every 24 days, with warm water - + 22 ... 25. After the appearance of the first ovaries, until the very harvest, watering should be carried out daily, with the calculation of 7 liters per 1 m2.

Cucumbers should be fed every 7-12 days with the help of mineral fertilizers by irrigation.
