Planting garden chamomile

Planting chamomile garden can be done in the following ways:

  • Using seeds
  • From seedlings
  • By dividing the bush

Chamomile planting any of the methods requires the selection of slightly acidic soils. This plant does not like shade, so it must be planted in sunny places. Before planting, fertilize the soil. In the event that it is acidic, dolomite flour or slaked soda is added. There is enough space for garden chamomile, which makes it much easier to care for it. In one place, this plant can grow up to 5 years.

When planting chamomile seeds with garden seeds, you need to find a sunny place. Seed planting should be done directly into the ground in late May - early June.

Garden chamomile has very small seeds, so in order for them to germinate quickly, they must be sprinkled with a very thin layer of soil. After germination, chamomile must be regularly watered. After the appearance of 4-5 leaves on the plant, it must be planted in 2-3 flowers. Chamomile seeds can also be planted in the autumn.

When planting this plant in spring, you must:

  • So that the air temperature is from 16 to 18 degrees.
  • In order for the seeds to sprout faster, garden chamomile must be sown under the covering material.
  • This plant does not like thickening, therefore, when chamomile grows, it must be thinned regularly.
  • Chamomile planting in the ground should be done on neutral soils. This is due to the fact that this plant does not tolerate wetlands.
  • In order for chamomile to fully grow and develop, it is necessary to apply mineral fertilizers before planting it in the ground.

In order to grow chamomile from seedlings, seeds are sown in March. To this end, you need to take good drainage and pour it into the pots. Seeds are planted in moist soil. You can sprinkle the seeds with a thin layer of earth or not sprinkle them at all. During the dive, you can use ordinary plastic cups. In these containers, it is imperative to make a hole at the bottom.

After the dive of the plant, it must be sprinkled on top with water from a spray bottle and covered with a film. The film must not be opened until the first shoots appear. Cups with seedlings are placed in a warm and dark place.

When the first shoots appear, the film is removed from the cup. The cups must be placed on the window, as the seedlings require light.

Seedlings emerge 10-14 days after disembarkation. After the threat of frost in May goes away, you can transplant garden chamomile seedlings into the ground. Transplanting produced in bushes of 2-3 pieces... In this case, the distance between the bushes should be from 30 to 40 centimeters.

Another highly effective way to propagate chamomile is by dividing the bush. To do this, you need to dig out a chamomile bush in the spring and divide it into 2-3 new bush, depending on its size. The division of the bush should be done with bare hands so as not to damage the chamomile root system. Further, a hole is dug in the ground, the size of which corresponds to the diameter of the new bush. Mineral fertilizers are applied to the bottom of the hole, which are covered with a layer of earth. Then the chamomile is planted in the ground and watered. Absolutely all chamomile breeding methods are highly effective, which allows the gardener to choose the most suitable option for himself.

Garden chamomile is a rather unpretentious plant to care for. In order for it to fully grow and develop, it needs:

  1. Provide timely and abundant watering.
  2. This plant does not like weeds very much, so you need to weed it regularly. Weeding will help not only get rid of weeds, but also allow air to pass to the chamomile root system, as well as loosening the earth, since this plant is very fond of fertile soils.
  3. Seedlings of this plant, which are planted in poppy, need to be watered and fed frequently. For this purpose, it can be used mullein infusion or nitrogen fertilizers.
  4. Adult shrubs of the plant also need feeding. For this purpose, urea is used. It only needs 20 grams per square meter.
  5. In dry weather, the soil is spilled with water after fertilization.
  6. If the leaves of the garden chamomile began to acquire a light green color, then it is necessary to re-feed it. The need for re-feeding arises only if agricultural technology was not followed when leaving and planting the plant.
  7. The introduction of mineral fertilizers should alternate with the introduction of chicken manure, which will limit the possibility of soil acidification, which negatively affects the given plant.

Also, garden chamomile requires rejuvenation. To do this, five years after planting this plant, the bush must be cut off on one side. Fertile soil is poured into the resulting hole. After three years, the chamomile is rejuvenated, only the root system of the bush is trimmed from the other side.

A very beautiful flower. The first year I planted chamomile with seeds, and in the second - I planted it with shoots. I like that chamomile is not whimsical to care for and can live in any soil. like white, pink and blue flowers.

Dear Yulia26 reader! Be sure to plant a pharmacy chamomile together with garden daisies. This will enhance the pollination and will look very nice. And a useful flower in your home "pharmacy"!

Good evening. Please tell me why the stem of the "Alaska" chamomile is spinning under the flower after being cut. On the bush it is even, but you cut it off and start spinning?

We have two types of chamomile growing in our country house. This is a common chamomile and pharmacy chamomile. Flowers are beautiful and most importantly, not whimsical to care for. I propagate by seating them and this procedure does not cause problems.

We also have two varieties of chamomile and one medicinal. Grandfather dries it and makes infusion for the bath in winter. Although sometimes dried flowers are added to vitamin teas. But I don't really like these teas.
