Gatsania in the photo looks like a brightly colored chamomile. In our flower gardens, it is still not so popular, but there are more and more people who want to grow this flower every day.
Gatsania belongs to the Asteraceae family. This is a low-growing plant, reaching a maximum height of 20-30 cm.
Gatsaniya delights in photos and in gardens with its large flower baskets-inflorescences of bright, attractive colors. In addition, the flowering of the plant lasts quite a long time: gatsaniya begins to bloom in mid-July and pleases with flowers before the onset of cold weather.
Gatsania tolerate dry times well, prefer to grow in bright light, are thermophilic. The best place in the garden for these flowers is an open, sunny place.
The soil for cultivation is preferable to nutritious, loose, light, with good drainage. When growing, you should not overmoisten the soil too much, does not like excessive moisture.
If during planting you fertilized the soil, then the following dressings are carried out once every 2 months. If the gatsania are planted on poor soils, then fertilize them more often - about once every two weeks.
In general, gatsaniya refers to perennial plants, but it cannot winter in our latitudes, frosts below -5 degrees destroy the plants. Therefore, in our gardens, this plant is grown as an annual.
But if you want to see especially outstanding varieties of gatsania in your garden again next year, you can dig up bushes in the fall, transplant them into pots or containers and bring them indoors for the winter.
Propagated by gatsaniya seeds or rosette cuttings. In our climate, these flowers are best grown through seedlings, and in more southern latitudes, they can be sown directly in open ground in March-April.
