Lush carnation and its cultivation
Lush carnation refers to perennial frost-resistant plants that can perfectly decorate your summer cottage. It is often used as an element of landscape design, as its flowers can be white, purple or pink. At the same time, they emit a pleasant aromatic aroma.
A lush carnation, a photo of which will help you immediately recognize it, has petals that are dissected into threadlike narrow lobes. This, in fact, is what distinguishes this variety of carnations from other varieties.
Growing carnations
As already mentioned, lush carnation is a plant that can withstand frosts down to -20 degrees. It is very easy to grow it. Above all, set aside a sunny spot for her with a light, fertile, well-drained potting mix.
Lush carnation seeds can be sown outdoors in April-May. True, some gardeners prefer to grow lush carnations through seedlings. As a rule, seedlings appear already on the 30th day. They are thinned out, leaving a distance of 15 cm between the plants.
Lush carnation, the cultivation of which is to provide optimal conditions, does not tolerate stagnant water. Flowering begins in June-July and lasts about 1.5 months. Before budding begins, the plant must be fed with complex fertilizers. But be careful not to overdo it with nitrogen, as too much nitrogen will diminish flowering and impair your overwintering ability.
In general, caring for a lush carnation is not very difficult. In the second year, it blooms even more abundantly than in the first.
