When the snowdrops bloom
At the very beginning of spring, immediately after the snow melts or even in the snow cover, a beautiful and delicate flower called a snowdrop appears in the forests. First, linear leaves appear from the ground, and then bloom in small white bells.
These amazing flowers are not afraid of frost or snow. Therefore, when asked when the snowdrops bloom, we can say for sure that it is in early spring. Although in some climatic zones this plant blooms even in December-January.
There are about 18 species in the genus of snowdrops, which are common in the forests, mountains and meadows of the Caucasus, Europe and Turkey.
The height of snowdrops reaches 20-25 centimeters. The shape and size of the flower depends on the type of snowdrop.
The plant reproduces by bulbs, the active growth of which occurs in the summer. For many years, snowdrops can grow and occupy vast territories. These flowers are completely undemanding to the soil and grow well in partial shade. For a beautiful flowering, only two conditions are enough: good soil moisture and daylight. At the same time, the plant practically does not need care.
Due to the unpretentiousness of snowdrops, they can be easily grown at home or in greenhouse conditions.
Snowdrops spend most of their time underground throughout the year. In the fall, the bulbs begin to grow their roots. In the spring, when the snowdrops are in full bloom, the meadows or mountainous terrain are especially beautiful. In the period between active flowering and the subsequent death of leaves, the plant is gaining strength for the next season.
That's right, snowdrops are unpretentious and grow quickly. We have a plot next to the forest, so these lovely flowers moved to our garden. I do not delete them, they are very happy in the spring, when nature wakes up.
