Specifications
Almost all manufacturers of dry mix M150 have the same composition, it includes:
- Portland cement grades PC400, PC500;
- dry sand with a fraction of 0.1-1 mm;
- mineral powder with a fraction of 0.1-0.5 mm;
- mineral additives and organic plasticizers.
All domestic manufacturers produce M150 mixtures in accordance with GOST 3051597, sand is used in accordance with TU 5711-002-05071329-2003.
The specific gravity or density of the cement-sand mixture M150 is 900 kg per m3, the consumption is 16-17 kg per 1 m2 with a layer thickness of 1 cm, the color is gray, the pot life is no more than 2 hours, the adhesion to the base is 0.6 MPa, the compressive strength is 15.
Mortar M150 differs from M300 or M400 in that it can be used to produce not only masonry, but also screed and plaster. Only the proportions of dilution with water and methods of use will be different. It is necessary to dilute the mixture only with cold water.
The method of application of the M150 product is as follows: a mixture is poured into a container with water in a ratio of 1.8-2 liters per 10 kg of dry composition and then mixed with a mixer or manually until a homogeneous mass is formed. Once the solution has been diluted, it must be used within 2 hours.
With brickwork, the diluted mixture is applied in an even layer to the surface of the brick using a trowel and then leveled. The optimum thickness of the joints is from 1 to 5 mm, depending on the size of the blocks. When plastering, the solution is applied to the surface with a spatula, trowel or using an aggregate (plastering station), then pulled out with a rule to an even layer. The wall before plastering work should be covered with a deep penetration primer, if the layers are more than 3 cm, then it is necessary to install beacons in advance.
Tips & Tricks
On the packaging you can see instructions for preparing the batch, as well as instructions for preparing the place to be treated.
Before you start to dilute the mixture, you need to calculate its consumption. To do this, it is enough to know the area, layer width and mixture consumption per square meter. All these actions will help to do the job efficiently and without errors, and then start processing.
We must not forget about the correct storage of bags. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from small children. It is worth adding a few comments to the negative reviews described above, namely about quality.
In addition, it must be said that the building mixture is an important element in the construction and processing of buildings. That is why it is necessary to approach its choice and purchase very carefully, since the appearance of the building and its reliability depend on it.
We must not forget that there are a lot of scammers among suppliers who want to get money as soon as possible for a product that is cheap and, possibly, of poor quality. It follows from this that the material must be purchased only from trusted persons, to be extremely demanding and attentive consumer.

Formulation types and requirements
Despite the fact that any composition of CPB includes cement and sand, the final characteristics of the mortar can be very different. The main parameter is strength, which depends on the ratio of components. The level of strength and resistance of the cement-sand mixture to various influences depends on the scope of the mortar. Therefore, for different jobs, the DSP mixture is prepared according to a specific recipe.
Types
The proportion of cement and sand affects the characteristics of the mixture. As a rule, one brand of cement is used in common mortars. But the brand of cement is not equal to the brand of the solution. So, from it is possible to make a cement-sand mortar M150 or M300, taking a binder in a certain volume. On the other hand, for the desired grade of cement, they take grades an order of magnitude higher. Binder is supplied in bags of 25 kg or 50 kg.
The main brands of cement-sand mixtures:
- М100 - high strength, made of cement М200-М500, with a certain amount of sand.
- M200 is the most common type of mixture, relevant for creating a coating and paths in everyday life, withstands small loads, dries quickly and is not demanding on conditions.
- M300 - floor slabs are made from mortar, foundations of good strength.
- М400 - strong concrete, prepared on the basis of cement М400 / М500, is used for multi-storey construction, reinforced concrete floor slabs, etc.
- M500 is the most durable concrete used in private housing construction (there are also brands M600, M700, but they are prepared for special objects). Withstands high loads, retains its original properties for many years, is not afraid of external negative factors.
In addition to the above, there are also intermediate grades - it can be a cement-sand mixture M 150, M250, M350, etc. But their characteristics do not differ significantly from those of concretes of the main brands.
Additives
Before diluting the cement with sand (choose the correct proportions, measure everything), you should think about the possibility of using additives that change the properties of the mixture. Additives are introduced into the composition to adapt the mixture to the desired conditions, increase / decrease certain indicators. So, using additives, you can even get liquid glass used for plaster.
Dry cement mixtures, as a rule, do not need to be refined, but they are also more expensive. But if it was decided to implement the preparation of DSP independently, then the list of possible additives and their properties will come in handy.
What can be added to the sand-cement mixture:
- PVA - makes the solution more plastic and increases adhesion to other materials. Before starting work, you need to correctly select the proportions for the cement mortar.
- Lime - only slaked lime is used.The additive slightly increases strength and vapor permeability, but requires strict adherence to the ratios. Most often, lime is added to plaster solutions.
- Graphite and soot - they do not affect the physical properties of DSP, but are relevant in the form of dyes.
- Detergents - improve the plasticity of the solution, are introduced into the mixture after water in an exact proportion.
You should think about additives before mixing the mixture, since not all substances can be added after adding to the water composition - some only at the stage of mixing the dry components.

Peculiarities
It is worth noting the many features that this mixture includes. Created by special technologies M-150 is known for its unique qualities, indispensable for construction or repair.
The amazing ratio of all components gives this mixture such qualities as:
- reliability;
- high quality;
- economical consumption;
- high resistance to moisture;
- good adhesion to various substrates;
- the possibility of using both indoor and outdoor work;
- frost resistance;
- ability to save heat;
- excellent sound insulation;
- vapor permeability.
Each package of this material weighs about 50 kg, which corresponds to 0.038 m3.
Separately, it should be said about the possibility of creating an even layer during construction or repair. When finishing with this material, chips, bumps or cracks will never occur, unless the consumer made mistakes in the preparation of the solution and its application. This quality should be considered a huge plus, as well as extremely high strength. Thanks to this, both artificial and natural stone can be easily laid on top of the dried mortar. At the end of the work, the area covered with the dried mortar will remain uniform, dense and even.
In addition to the above, you must also know about the features of the use and mixing of the M-150 mixture. When mixing this material, you should strictly follow all mixing rules.
It is necessary to apply and consume this mixture at least within 2 hours after mixing it, otherwise it will become extremely hard and it will be simply impossible to apply it. It is because of this that it is necessary to prepare and clean the treated area long before applying the material.
Substances such as oil, dust and grease can reduce adhesion, which makes the connection much less quality. The crumbling areas must be removed before starting construction or finishing work. The same should be done with such formations as moss, algae and fungus. It will be useful to treat the affected surfaces with any fungicidal preparation.
Surfaces into which moisture penetrates are treated with a primer. And you can also do multiple moisturizing. Each such moistening is carried out only after the early coating has completely dried.
