Specifications
Emaco repair mortars are used to fill cracks no more than one centimeter wide. This mixture has high adhesion to concrete, brick and reinforcing mesh. The finished composition is capable of withstanding mechanical loads, is distinguished by its durability and reliability. It is noted that the mixture is easy to fit and has sufficient elasticity. This allows you to get the job done quickly.
Considering dry mixes for working with concrete or brick surfaces, you need to know the basic conditions for their correct use:
- Their moisture content should not exceed 1 ppm;
- Shrinkage of solutions is unacceptable;
- The entrained air is allowed no more than 5%;
- Frost resistance should be at least F300;
- Products are packed in open and closed paper bags;
- The repair mixture is fireproof, explosion-proof and non-radioactive;
- The use of the ready-made mixture should be carried out only in rooms with an exhaust hood or with good ventilation;
- Work must be carried out exclusively with personal protective equipment;
- The dust in the package should be no more than 3-5 mg per cubic meter. m.
Where are Emaco solutions used?
All concrete structures, one way or another, are exposed to different influences from the outside. In addition, low-quality building materials are sometimes used in their construction. It also happens that designers or builders make mistakes. This often causes the concrete to gradually begin to deteriorate, and rust appears on the reinforcement.
Damaged concrete products need urgent repair work. Today this problem is easily solved: specialists use mixtures of the EMACO company, which allow to eliminate damage on a reinforced concrete surface. New technologies for the manufacture of special mixtures allow you to get rid of cracks and thereby protect concrete buildings. Emaco non-shrinking fast-hardening mixtures contain components intended for restoration work with concrete.
Using Emaco dry mix.
EMACO is a dry mortar, the size of the aggregate in which should not exceed ten millimeters. Builders using concrete mix claim that it is easy to install and has high ductility. The product is resistant to external influences, forms a good adhesion to the reinforcing mesh, brick, old concrete surfaces. Compositions have compressive strength, can withstand heavy loads. The listed characteristics, together with adhesion, allow you to achieve maximum ease of use. In addition, the products are durable and reliable.
How does MasterEmaco concrete repair system work?
The system of materials of the MasterEmaco series, represented by the Master Builders Solutions brand from the BASF concern, offers comprehensive solutions for the repair of concrete and reinforced concrete structures that have been damaged or worn out as a result of various influences.
The MasterEmaco product portfolio includes dry mixes for structural and non-structural repair of concrete, repair at subzero temperatures, quick repair of concrete in a short time, restoring strength characteristics, structural integrity and an attractive appearance of the structure.
Sequence of work with materials
- Surface preparation. The area to be repaired must be cleaned of foreign substances (paint, dirt, grease, concrete crumbs, dust), rust should be removed from the metal fittings, and leaks should be eliminated. Work can be done with sandblasting. It is advisable to form a roughness.
- Moistening surfaces. For optimal adhesion, the concrete must be moistened.Water is applied every quarter of an hour for 3 hours. Excess moisture should be removed.
- Preparation of the solution. A dry mixture is poured into the container and water is poured, according to the instructions, mixing is performed with a construction mixer for 3-4 minutes, then the solution must be allowed to settle for the same time.
- Material application. You can work with the material manually - with a trowel, or with the help of equipment - plastering stations. After applying the layer, you can smooth the surface with special tools.
Application
The use of various types of mixtures is possible only if certain rules are observed:
- They should be stored and used only at temperatures from +5 to +30 degrees;
- Mixing the mixture should be done using mixers or a drill with a special attachment; manually - not allowed;
- The mixing time is 5 to 7 minutes;
- The volume of the finished mixture should be such that it can be consumed in half an hour;
- The amount of water in the mixture should not exceed the value indicated on the package;
- Before repair work, the surface must be prepared by removing dust, dirt, oil stains and damaged concrete; after that, it needs to be slightly moistened;
- The composition hardens for a day in conditions of minimal moisture evaporation.

About the brand
Emaco is a sub-brand of Master Builders Solutions TM, under which the world famous BASF corporation produces building materials. Mixes for the repair of concrete and reinforced concrete structures are sold under the MasterEmaco TM. All brand products consist of Portland cement with sand additives up to 10 mm in diameter, polymer fibers and modifiers, do not contain environmentally hazardous substances.
Emaco products practically do not shrink, completely fill the volume of the defect and have excellent adhesion to the materials being repaired.
Such characteristics of the mixtures ensure the reliability of the repair performed with their help and can significantly extend the service life of the restored buildings.
Varieties of products
According to the scope of application, the brand's products are divided into those used for structural repair (S series with the exception of S 110 TIX, A and P), allowing operation at low temperatures (T series and S 110 TIX mixture) and intended for decorative repair, finishing and material protection ( Emaco N900, Emaco N 5200, Emaco N 5100). According to the composition and application method, the mixtures are divided into casting (intended for the repair of horizontal surfaces) and thixotropic (for the repair of vertical surfaces).
For casting
Consider the main technical characteristics of casting mixes:
- MasterEmaco S 466 is a dry mix with a coarse filler (up to 10 mm). The depth of filling is from 4 to 10 cm. It is used for repairing large defects, not recommended for high-precision repairs and when working in conditions of increased acidity of the environment.
- Emaco S 488 PG (or polymer-cement S88C) is a mixture with a fine filler (up to 2.5 mm). The depth of filling is from 2 to 4 cm, the restrictions are similar to the previous version.
MasterEmaco S 466
Emaco S 488 PG
- Emaco S 540 FR is a fine filler compound reinforced with brass-plated steel fibers that increase strength and reliability. It is used for the repair of critical structures, it cannot be laid on uncured concrete.
- Emaco S 550 FR - is distinguished by a combination of fine filler and chromium-nickel fiber, which increases the strength and chemical resistance of the material. It is used for the repair of critical structures in aggressive environments (except for acidic ones).
- Emaco S 5450 PG - bulk mortar with increased crack resistance and filler up to 1.5 mm, pouring depth - from 2 to 20 cm.

Peculiarities
Even a properly executed structure made of the highest quality concrete or reinforced concrete (reinforced concrete) is subject to external aggressive factors. First of all, these are climatic conditions (precipitation, wind, temperature changes, humidity), mechanical (various shocks) and chemical factors (corrosion of reinforcement in reinforced concrete). What can we say about the cases when the contractor decided to save money on design, control of works and materials. As a result, over time, cracks, deformations and chips appear on the surface and in the depth of the material.
The most important characteristics affecting the durability of the repair are:
- a good level of adhesion of the mixture and the material being repaired (concrete, reinforcement in reinforced concrete, bricks, stones);
- exclusion of the possibility of noticeable shrinkage.
To eliminate defects and prevent damage, not a standard cement mixture is usually used, but special materials known as repair mixtures. Among the variety of such materials on the market, the products of the trade mark (TM) Emaco stand out.
What are the features of the MasterEmaco solution?
Materials of the MasterEmaco line, developed using innovative technologies, allow to achieve a larger contact area of the material with the base and guarantee high mechanical properties.
MasterEmaco solutions provide high-quality repairs, restore the durability and ability of concrete to withstand the required loads. Thanks to the fast-hardening repair compounds, the restoration of the structure is carried out in the shortest possible time, which contributes to quick commissioning and minimization of costs.
