Phlox paniculata - varieties and cultivation
Phloxes are the favorite flowers of many gardeners and gardeners. The second name of this plant - chintz - perfectly describes all the variety of colors of its petals, which resembles bright chintz fabrics.
When growing paniculate phlox, important points must be taken into account:
- they are planted in places well-lit by the sun, which provides plants with strong stems and bright flowering;
- in the hottest time of the day, it is necessary to provide shading of phlox in order to protect their flowers from rapid burnout in the sun;
- the soil should be loose, nutritious, moist, with a sufficient amount of fertilizers;
- watering phloxes need abundant, regular, as they are very moisture-loving.
Phlox paniculata varieties are very diverse, you can find colors for every taste.
The most famous and unpretentious varieties are as follows.
- Variety Success has a stem height of about 70 cm, the diameter of each flower is 4 cm. The color of the petals is intense dark purple, and the center of the flower is bright white. Refers to varieties of medium flowering.
- Bright Ice is distinguished by a completely pink flower, the eye of which has a carmine-red hue. The height of plants of this variety is about 75 cm.
- Phlox paniculata variety Bila Vezha is much larger - the height of the shoots is more than a meter, but the diameter of the flower is slightly less - 3 cm.The color of the petals is white, they are decorated with strokes of a carmine-lilac shade.
- In the Hesperis variety, the height of the stems reaches a meter, the diameter of its flowers is only 1.5 cm, but the flowering is very abundant, the inflorescences are dense. The color of the flower petals of this variety is lilac.
