Peony tulips and their varieties
Peony tulips have beautiful double flowers, the perianth leaves of which are wide enough and are arranged in tiles, overlapping each other. Peony tulips are quite impressive in size: the height of their stems often exceeds forty, and sometimes sixty centimeters. This plant blooms late - in late May - early June and in the overwhelming majority of cases it is used for planting and cutting. However, some varieties of these tulips are also suitable for forcing. Peony tulips have a considerable number of varieties that simply amaze with their beauty and luxury. Here is a more detailed description of some of them.
The Angelica cultivar is relatively small (the stem is about thirty centimeters high) and has small flowers with a bright yellow heart and anthers, which are white and decorated with a wide pink border. Tulips of the Ankle Tom variety look extremely impressive. These flowers are mahogany (a mixture of brown, black and red), a bright yellow bottom, and deep purple anthers. This variety blooms relatively early - in March-early April - and is used for both casing and late forcing.
The tulip of the Russkiy Bogatyr variety fully justifies its name: its flowers, which are painted in a pale purple hue and are dotted with large white peas, are really impressive in size. This variety is not inferior in size to flowers and rich cherry-red Symphony, the height of the bud of which often exceeds the mark of nine centimeters.
