Greenhouse strawberries on a 16 hour day
Seasonal fruits are the healthiest and most delicious of all existing crops. They naturally accumulate vitamins and minerals. Take, for example, strawberries - their special taste attracts everyone, and a storehouse of useful substances sometimes confirms that the use of strawberries is necessary for the human body.
Strawberries grow well in the open field, while it is not always possible to achieve large sizes and select fruits. A greenhouse can help with this, which allows you to get juicy tasty fruits in less time. It is only necessary to provide light, artificially increasing daylight hours, and feeding that helps the effective growth of strawberries.
Greenhouse strawberries are grown from biennial seedlings, which are considered the best planting material. First, they wait for a good root system on the mother plantation, only then the seedlings are planted in greenhouse conditions according to the 15X15 scheme. Transfer to the greenhouse is carried out before the onset of frost - in the month of October-November. Artificially created lighting will allow you to start harvesting from March.
By the way, when creating a 16-hour day, flowering begins after ten days, and the first green fruits appear after thirty-five days. With an 8-hour day, the terms increase to 14 and 48 days, respectively.
Greenhouse strawberries develop well with the following types of feeding: manure, peat, mineral fertilizers. Remember, greenhouse strawberries require artificial pollination (except for self-pollinating varieties).
