Growing gatsania is not difficult

Gatsania, or gazania, is a light-loving, drought-resistant and cold-resistant plant. It easily survives frosts up to 3 degrees. In fact, gatsania is a perennial, but the plant cannot withstand wintering in the middle lane, it is grown as an annual crop. It is rational to cultivate gatsania in the southern regions directly by planting seeds in the ground, in the northern regions and the middle lane it is advisable to grow a flower from seedlings.

Seeds are sown from the second half of March to early April in a container with moistened soil, cover them with glass or plastic wrap. The optimum temperature for obtaining friendly plant shoots is 22-23 degrees. Seedlings will appear in a week and a half or two, and after another week, very tiny plants should be dived into peat cups. During a pick, it is advisable to pinch the tip of the root, this will improve the development of the root system of the flower.

By the end of next week, small plants will already require feeding, you can use any complex fertilizers for seedlings. The next top dressing is in a week. If you want to minimize the work of caring for the seedlings, you can sow seeds in peat tablets, in which case a pick is not required.

As soon as the threat of severe frosts has passed, gating can be planted in open ground. Growing gatsania will be successful if the plants are planted in light soil with the addition of humus and sand, the plant will develop slightly worse on saline soils. The recommended distance between seedlings is from 20 to 30 cm. The last dressing must be done before the start of mass flowering. During the flowering period, no more feeding is required.

Proper cultivation of gatsania requires rare but abundant watering. If you pluck off the faded inflorescences, then the flowering period will be significantly lengthened.

Annual plants, as a rule, are very beautiful and bright, but they are too picky to care for, I do not really like it, since it takes a lot of time to take care of them.
