White tulips in the photo have a special aristocratic sophistication and charm, being considered a symbol of great happiness and good luck. They are good for cutting, mixborder, themed flower garden, evening flower bed.
Tulips are quite diverse in structure (goblet and lily-like) and flower shape (simple and double), color (monochromatic and variegated), plant height. The tulip usually blooms in May - June, but in recent years, due to changes in climatic conditions, the beginning of flowering in central Russia has shifted a few weeks earlier.
The tulip has a rather short growing season, the leaves dry up after flowering, and the bulbs begin a period of rest, but this rest is relative: at this time a new flower is forming in the mother bulb.
Tulips reproduce by seeds and daughter bulbs, which are formed in the mother. After flowering, around July, the daughter bulb is separated and dried for a couple of days in the open air, shading from the sun and protecting from rain.
The success of tulip cultivation depends largely on proper soil preparation and the right planting site. Choose a place that is sufficiently lit, protected from drafts and cold winds. Groundwater should not pass more than 60 cm from ground level. A higher rise in the water level will provoke soaking and subsequent death of the bulbs.
