Ear primrose from seeds is easy to grow
The most beautiful primrose among all primroses is considered to be auricular primrose, also called auricula or "bear ears". Ear primrose from seeds is not grown much more difficult than by dividing a bush.
Primrose loves partial shade areas more, although sufficient watering allows it to grow successfully in open areas. Primroses do not tolerate locking, they are undemanding to the soil, only sandy primroses are not suitable. The plant easily tolerates a transplant, even in flowering form.
Ear primrose from seeds multiplies easily, but they need to be sown immediately after ripening due to the rapid loss of germination. That is why sowing has to be done in the fall, immediately after collecting the seeds. Sowing purchased seeds in the spring is carried out after stratification (soaked seeds should be kept for several days at a low temperature).
The primrose is grown from seeds when planted in boxes in February-March. Ascended seedlings dive into small boxes, and at the end of summer they are planted in ridges, covering them with dry leaves for the winter. The final development of primroses is reached by the second year after sowing.
Starting from the second year, every year in the fall, nutritious soil is added to the rhizome for shelter. During the growing season, it is advisable to feed the primrose with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers: in early spring, then after a couple of weeks and the third time at the turn of July – August. Loosening, weeding, watering is periodically necessary. For a good wintering primroses, it is advisable to preserve the rosette of leaves until late autumn - this is a natural shelter. For the winter, it can be covered with dry leaves in a layer of up to 10 cm.
Indeed, a very beautiful species of primroses, I have not tried to grow this one yet, but I will definitely try. But each plant in any case requires special care and conditions for growth, which must be maintained.
