When peonies bloom - no one remains indifferent

Peonies are deciduous perennial shrubs prized for their delicate leaves, chic flowers and ornamental fruits. When peonies bloom, not a single person remains indifferent to them.

There are small flowers, sometimes faintly noticeable, and to feel their delicate aroma and tenderness, you need to make an effort. Quite the opposite can be said about the peony - it proudly and with dignity bears a lush, bright beauty, generously demonstrated throughout the season. When peonies bloom - from spring to late autumn, their aroma is felt from afar.

Peony flowers are usually single, apical, but many varieties, in addition to the central one, also form lateral buds, their number can vary from 5 to 7 pieces. Lateral flowers begin to bloom after the central one begins to fade. Their sizes, of course, are smaller, but due to this, the duration of flowering of an individual bush increases significantly.

Peony changes color three times per season: in spring, its shoots are purple-red, in summer large lush greenery with a huge regal flower appears in all its splendor, and in autumn the color of the leaves turns purple, crimson or yellow-green.

It should be added to everything that the peony is a frost-resistant plant and easily tolerates drought, is unpretentious in cultivation, multiplies without problems and recovers well due to reserve buds (of which there are a large number) even after severe damage.

Peony is successfully used in all types of flower beds (in groups, mixborders, borders, as tapeworms). In addition, the peony has been cut for a long time.
