Syrian cotton wool
There are many useful but little known herbaceous plants. These include Syrian vatnik, which also has other names (Milky, Eskulapova or Swallow grass, garden ficus and gusset).
This herb has a rather interesting appearance. Plant height can be from one to two meters. The leaves are simple in structure, their length is usually from 8 to 25 centimeters. The central vein of the leaf is often red, and the edges are wavy. The flowers are grayish-lilac, collected in an umbrella, have a very pleasant aroma.
The cottonwood also has fruits in the form of a green box, inside of which there are dark brown seeds with long hairs.
The main feature of this herb is the release of milky sap in case of damage to any part of it.
The Syrian vatochnik at all times had a special meaning. Initially, it was used for the production of fiber, from which coarse fabrics, strong ropes were made, and also used as stuffing for children's toys and upholstered furniture.
However, over time, this plant has lost its significance as an industrial crop. Despite this, it remains a valuable specimen for traditional medicine.
Infusion of cotton wool inflorescences helps to heal purulent and ulcerative wounds, and also helps from the bites of many insects. Due to the high content of amino acids, willow herb seeds are used as an effective anti-aging agent.
The plant is especially useful for people suffering from heart disease, but only in a limited dose, since an overdose can be fatal.
