Zopnik tuberous and its useful properties
An inconspicuous herbaceous perennial zopnik tuberous can be found in glades and forest edges, in the steppe and on mountain slopes. It is distributed throughout Eurasia, from the Black Sea to China. On the long roots of the plant, thickenings-nodules are formed, which is reflected in its name. The aerial part, which contains ascorbic acid, tannins, alkaloids and minerals, and its tubers, rich in saponin, have healing properties. The grass must be harvested during the flowering period (June-August), and the roots with tubers - in the fall and spring.
Today, tuberous zopnik can be bought at any pharmacy, since its healing properties are recognized not only by traditional medicine, but also by official one. Infusions of this plant are used to treat gastritis and stomach ulcers, tuberculosis and bronchitis, jaundice, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, female diseases, seizures, headaches. They have the property of narrowing blood vessels and increasing blood clotting. You can sprinkle purulent wounds with dry powder from the roots, it has an antimicrobial effect. A decoction of tubers is good for bloody diarrhea. A mixture of St. John's wort oil and decoction of zopnik effectively treats stomach ulcers.
The use of zopnik tuberous is possible not only for medicinal purposes. Tubers have a peculiar spicy taste, they are eaten boiled and fried. In general, the roots are stored for a long time, but if they are crushed to a state of flour, then delicious pancakes and pancakes can be cooked all winter. Dried zopnik leaves are used to brew a soothing and restorative tea.
