Petunia flower beds and its cultivation
Petunia flower beds always look attractive. It is not for nothing that this flower is considered one of the most popular in landscape design. Distinctive features of petunia is that it is drought-resistant, but with a long absence of incoming moisture, it needs watering.
But you need to be careful with watering, since the plant does not tolerate stagnant water. Therefore, outdoor petunia should be grown exclusively on light soils. Much also depends on which petunia varieties you choose. The fact is that the large-flowered forms of the plant are the most demanding for nutritional conditions, moisture and heat.
Growing petunias
Petunia care will be empty if you do not feed this flower. The abundance and duration of flowering depends on this. The first feeding is carried out a week after planting and until August, observing a 10-day interval.
Try to give preference to complex dressings in which potassium predominates. From the "organic" petunia like mullein infusion. If you prefer petunia in pots, then you need to properly prepare the soil mixture, which should include humus, peat, sand, leafy and sod land. The main thing is that you get a moisture-consuming, loose soil. If it has high acidity, then you need to add lime. When growing petunias in containers or boxes, it is imperative to fill them with drainage (expanded clay or gravel).
To preserve the decorative effect of the plant, remove those flowers that have already wilted.
