Touch-sensitive plant

The touch-me-not plant got its name due to its biological feature - if you lightly touch the ripe fruits, they will open with a bang and seeds will quickly fly out of them.

This herbaceous plant prefers to grow in moist soils of shady forests, touch-me-not also grows in shrubs that are located near lakes, wet ravines, streams, forest rivers and in places with fertile moist soil.

The touch-me-not plant has been used for a long time in folk medicine of Siberia, the Urals, the Caucasus and Central Asia. The main use of this plant is to get rid of bladder and kidney stones. It is also used externally to treat wounds, hemorrhoids and ulcers.

Touch-me-not grows well both in the garden and at home. Moreover, this plant is one of the first to be grown as an indoor plant. Watering is a key prerequisite for the well-being of the touch-me-not. This is a moisture-loving plant that does not tolerate the drying out of an earthen coma. The touchy one needs to be watered often, as well as regularly sprayed. Even the slightest lack of moisture can lead to wilting of the plant, its leaves turn yellow, and then fall off. Spraying, in turn, prevents the settlement of a tick, which loves to feast on the leaves of touch-me-not.

This flowering plant is characterized by rapid growth and abundant, almost year-round flowering. It is easy to propagate: you can use ripe seeds or plant apical cuttings, which take root rather quickly.

When buying an adult plant, you should pay attention to the condition of the leaves in order to exclude their infection with fungal diseases and spider mites.

The touch-me-not plant grows in our summer cottage and we chose a place on the eastern side of the bath, since it took root there best of all. It's dry on the south side. On the north, it was frozen.
