What is molding, types and options for use in the interior

Installation of cornices and moldings

The ceiling plinth made of LDF and polyurethane is mounted using assembly and joint glue. You can also use an additional type of fastening using self-tapping screws.

Mounting glue is used for gluing to walls and ceilings, and docking glue holds the joints of products together.

In order to correctly cut the cornices at the desired angle, use a miter box and a hacksaw. We described in detail the installation process of cornices and moldings made of polyurethane in step-by-step instructions.

Installing moldings is an easier process, because they are attached to the same plane. But if you have tools for measuring angles and cutting products, the installation of curtain rods can also be done independently, or you can entrust the process to professionals.

Many buyers ask if cornices and moldings need to be painted if white suits the interior. From experience, we will say that staining is a mandatory procedure. The paint provides additional protective properties. And even if the interior involves a white skirting board, it must be painted with white paint.

How is the molding different from the cornice?

Molding - an element of interior decor, which has a straight back side and is designed to be attached to one plane. With their help, they frame mirrors, windows, doors, highlight arches, panels on the walls, etc. Moldings are used at the joints of different finishing materials, for example, when the lower part of the walls has one finish and the upper part has another. Moldings are able to create luxurious accents, performing zoning or highlighting decorative elements. From the outside, they can have a very different ornament, pattern, or be made in a restrained, simple style.

Cornice on the back side it has two planes and is intended for corner mounting, between the wall and the ceiling. The design of the curtain rods can also be very diverse.

Types of moldings

Molding is a decorative panel in the form of an overhead convex strip used to decorate a variety of surfaces and give them a spectacular and neat look. Moldings are attached to almost any surface: walls, windows, doorways or ceilings. Experts distinguish several types of moldings:

Type of material Characteristic
Gypsum Most often used in decoration. Excellent performance: but complex installation
Polyurethane Resistant to damage and durable, but will not withstand excessive mechanical stress. Gives off a large amount of corrosive smoke on contact with fire.
Wood Eco-friendly and beautiful material that fits into any style, but is expensive and unstable to moisture
Metal It is used for finishing the corner of a step or a threshold. Strong, but requires additional fastening
Plastic Easy installation, lightweight material that does not rot, but may break during installation
Styrofoam Resistant to moisture, inexpensive and easy to install, but easily damaged and short-lived
Marble Great appearance, but high cost. Marble moldings are nearly impossible to find in regular home improvement stores.

Variety of moldings

What are moldings and what they are

Molding is a decorative strip of convex or concave shape. It is used for decoration, harmonization of interiors, visual correction of room imperfections.Moldings are narrow - a couple of centimeters wide, and wide - up to 20 cm. They are used for interior and exterior decoration, can be rigid or flexible. They come with a longitudinal relief (most often), with floral or geometric patterns.

At the installation site, moldings are ceiling, wall, corner. Corner ones are usually placed at the junction of the wall and ceiling. Moldings are made from:

  • Styrofoam. The cheapest. They have a slightly loose surface, so they only go for putty and painting. Fastened to a flat wall with glue.

  • Polyurethane. More expensive, dense, with a smooth surface. They are also glued to the walls and ceiling.
  • Plastic. Smooth with a shiny surface. They wash well, have a long service life, but they are not combined with all materials, they are not suitable for all interiors.
  • Gypsum. Heavier ones are made by casting. Massive elements are fastened with nails or self-tapping screws, thinner ones can be glued onto a special adhesive.
  • Wood. Wooden moldings are attached to finishing nails or to regular ones without caps. Bonding with wood glue is possible. Fits well with classic, Scandinavian, Russian interiors. All those in which wood trim or decor items are present in one form or another.

  • Metal. Very durable, but metal moldings can only be used in interiors of a certain type - minimalism, hi-tech, loft.
  • Polymer flexible. Polymeric flexible moldings are used for finishing columns and rounded walls. They are attached with glue.

Gypsum moldings date back to ancient times. It was they who became the model by which decorative strips for interior decoration were created from more modern and cheaper materials - foam and polyurethane.

Installation of polyurethane moldings

For installation you will need:

  • Adhesive for polyurethane. It is best to use liquid nails or a white acrylic sealant. You should purchase glue designed specifically for polyurethane, since some adhesives can destroy the molding.
  • Must. Allows you to conveniently fix the element and cut at the desired angle.
  • Brush or roller.
  • Sharp knife.

It is necessary to apply markings on the surface of the ceiling or wall according to the planned project. Then the molding is cut into the required lengths and glued with glue according to the markings applied.

If the elements are rather heavy, then in order to avoid them peeling off, you can additionally fix them with screws. All joints and crevices are covered with plaster putty. The painting of the polyurethane molding is performed before its installation. For this, you can use almost any type of paints, with the exception of nitro paints.

For many years, polyurethane moldings have been an indispensable element of interior decor, capable of not only hiding joints and joints, but also becoming a decoration and a bright accent in any interior.

At the junction of different materials

If tiles or wall panels are only laid on a part of the wall, the transition from tile / plastic to a flat wall does not look very presentable. In order to make this transition more attractive, special curb tiles are used, but they are too expensive - much more expensive than usual. It is no less interesting to arrange this joint with a molding. The decorative strip is mounted so that it covers the joint.

If the tile does not lie up to the ceiling, the transition can be made using molding

Width and thickness are selected for a specific interior and the thickness of the materials to be joined. Since we are usually talking about a bathroom, toilet or kitchen, it is more advisable to use materials that are easy to clean and are not afraid of high humidity. The optimal choice for tile joints is polyurethane. It can then be painted in the same color as the wall or tiles.

The transition from one material to another is best done with molding.

If you are decorating the transition between plastic panels and a painted / bleached wall, you can use a plastic skirting board. Wooden panels or MDF panels, it is better to join the walls with wooden moldings.

The same technique works very well when you have to combine two colors or two textures. Moldings are used to separate and harmonize the joints. It can be an accent wall, which is very fashionable now.

Separate the material of a different color, you can use moldings

But the accent wall doesn't have to be a different color or pattern from start to finish. For such a case - if a canvas or material of a different color occupies only part of the wall - the moldings will come in handy. They give the finishing touch to this finishing element.

Materials and installation features

Stucco moldings for decorating houses were made of plaster a hundred years ago. This molding is fixed to the ceiling with alabaster. The technology for the production and installation of gypsum stucco molding is laborious and expensive. Fastening plaster decor requires professional training. If the plaster molding falls off the wall, then, most likely, it will collapse and you will have to buy a new one. Jewelry of this type is not safe for unprofessional installation, since if it falls, a large weight can injure a person if it hits it.

Today, polyurethane products are used to create home decoration in various styles. They are lighter, easier to attach, environmentally friendly and safe. Fasteners are made with safe acrylic glue. The product has a high decorative effect, since after gluing it can be painted in any color that suits the general style of home decoration.

Wood molding is distinguished by its rigidity and requires professional knowledge and experience during installation. The wooden plate can be attached in different areas of the room. For this, thin nails and wood glue are used, which makes it possible to strengthen the fasteners of a rigid wooden structure and give it the required shape.

The metal die has a highly specialized purpose. Most often, such an aluminum molding is used to decorate thresholds, steps of stairs, wall surfaces finished with tiles - wherever corners and joints will be exposed to high mechanical stress. Fastening of metal corners and rails is done with self-tapping screws or with glue. In this case, such a cladding must necessarily start over the edge of the outer trim.

What is polyurethane molding

First, let's figure out what polyurethane is. In simple terms, this is foamed plastic. But moldings are the same cornices or skirting boards that are used in finishing and decorating surfaces. We'll talk more about the scope below. Take a look at the photo to see what these materials look like.

Thanks to them, they finish the floor, ceilings, doorways, cornices, walls, arches, etc. The very same polyurethane products can have different sizes, shapes, surfaces and purposes. And thanks to the method of filling the mold for molding with a polymer mass at high pressure, decorative elements have a dense structure and at the same time flexibility. You can nail the polyurethane moldings, cut and glue them to any surface.

What are the advantages of using polyurethane moldings in the interior? Let's take a closer look at them:

  1. Polyurethane moldings are lightweight. This means that it is easy to work with them, easy to transport and they do not load the structure.
  2. The products are quite durable despite their length.
  3. Polyurethane moldings are elastic, which allows them to be used for complex structures.For example, finishing an arch or curly furniture lining is not difficult. Only with such moldings can arches be successfully and simply decorated.
  4. Polyurethane moldings can accurately simulate the texture of other natural or artificial materials. This means that if you want imitation of wood on the walls or plaster, but cannot afford it, polyurethane moldings will be just right for you.
  5. The installation of products is quite simple. It is enough to use in the work a special glue for polyurethane moldings, putty or plaster, and also fix everything with liquid nails.
  6. The finishing, namely the coating on the products, is made on a water basis.
  7. The molding is not afraid of moisture and is bio-independent.
  8. You appear to decorate the overhead with foil to imitate gilding, bronze or silver.
  9. A huge number of models and varieties of polyurethane moldings.
  10. Affordable cost. You can afford to use polyurethane moldings for your home.

If we compare polyurethane moldings with the same plaster molding or wood, then they are no worse. In addition, the material will not load the structure. Over the years, the surface of the products will not crack, turn yellow or crumble. Natural materials can rot or dry out over time. But this will not happen with polyurethane.

And what are the disadvantages of the material? After all, it cannot be that he is completely perfect. Here you are right. We will note only 3 disadvantages that polyurethane molding has:

  1. the main disadvantage is that the products burn quite well. If you act on them with an open source of fire, then the finish will flash like a match. In the case when the junction box is located under the ceiling and closes, the consequences can be tragic. And also, when products are burned, toxic smoke is emitted;
  2. moldings do not have a perfectly white color, but have a grayish tint. Therefore, they may differ in tone from the ceiling. Some paint the ceiling with yellow acrylic paint;
  3. when the temperature rises, the polyurethane molding can change its size. That is why, just before installing it, you just need to withstand the moldings in the room.

This is why these moldings are so popular. And since polyurethane is not afraid of moisture, cast elements can be installed in a kitchen, bathroom or other room with high humidity and temperature fluctuations.

Varieties

Where exactly should moldings be used? What are they for their purpose? Platbands for doors and windows, frames for mirrors, plinths, cornices, as well as wall panels - all these are moldings.

Their abundance is simply impressive. Moldings for arches, for windows, for furniture ... What kind of moldings should we use for entrance doors and how, for example, can we combine wallpaper with moldings in the interior? Head is spinning! Let's find the answers to these questions by examining the types of moldings and their purpose.

Polyurethane wall moldings look exquisite even in the interior of the corridor

Ceiling moldings. Between the wall and the ceiling, moldings are used, which are usually called ceiling skirting boards. They are known to us as cornices. Their purpose is to create a neat transition between the ceiling and the wall.

Ceiling moldings in the interior can be found in two types: simple and complex, which are produced with various patterns and stucco moldings.

The width of such moldings is different. It ranges from a few centimeters to tens of centimeters. Wide ones are usually used for tall rooms with a fairly large area. In small rooms, simple options for moldings are used.

Ceiling moldings can be of different widths

Ceiling moldings are made from natural materials. For example, from plaster, wood and clay. But there are also artificial ones: they are made from polyurethane and polystyrene.

Experience shows that it is easier to work with artificial products.

Floor moldings. Moldings are also used for transitions between the floor and walls. In this case, we will focus on the floor. They are chosen taking into account the same parameters as ceiling moldings - the size of the room and the height of the room.

Wall moldings. This type of molding is used quite often. They are combined either with wallpaper or applied to painted walls, creating a specific pattern or framing that emphasizes a specific section of the wall. Wall moldings in the interior create a kind of decoration on the wall surface.

This is how you can beat the wallpaper with molding in the interior

We propose to select wall moldings, taking into account the shape and color of the plinth on the ceiling and on the floor, as they must be in harmony with the overall interior design. They are different in shape and length. The choice will always depend on which decorative element you want to create from the moldings.

Door and arch moldings. Do you want to buy molding for an interior door or an arch? Then you can't go wrong in deciding to bring this idea to life. Interior doors with molding will look just great. You can't go wrong with an arch either. Moldings for such a design are called door and arched.

This is how interior doors with molding look like

If you've worked with window moldings before, you won't have any problems with door moldings. They are also designed to mask joints. In our case, between the wall of the room and the door frame.

In everyday life, such moldings are called platbands. They can be oval, rectangular and even curly.

They buy such platbands depending on what material the doors are made of. This makes it possible to well "fit" the platbands into the overall picture.

This is the appearance of moldings for stucco arches.

The moldings on the arches make it possible to hide certain irregularities and errors of the arch itself. They also decorate it.

Important! Due to the complexity of the work, it is better to entrust the installation of door or arch moldings to professionals.

Furniture moldings. We don't think it's worth talking a lot about the purpose of furniture moldings. After all, everything here is quite simple and understandable. These products are classified as furniture decor. That is, furniture moldings are used to decorate furniture and various joinery.

Furniture moldings made of expensive wood species - stylish design and luxurious appearance

Most often, manufacturers offer three types of furniture decor: smooth, textured and metallized. The first is used for furniture with a smooth surface, the second is used for decorating facades (veneered) and for hardwood products. The third type is designed to imitate furniture for various metals - gold, silver, bronze and copper.

How to choose?

Consider the general rules for choosing moldings for various interiors.

  • When choosing a molding, start from the style of the interior.
  • The workload of the room with furniture and accessories will affect your choice. In order not to overload the interior, give preference to thin and simple skirting boards.
  • Massive molding with a lot of decorative details or ornaments is suitable for large apartments, as well as rooms with high ceilings.
  • For small apartments, wide skirting boards can be used only if the walls and ceiling in such a room have light shades. For small areas, it is worth using smaller elements.
  • If the room has low ceilings, then panels, vertical pilasters, fillets and pseudo-panels will help to visually correct this deficiency.
  • In bright rooms, you can use dark colored moldings, playing in contrast.
  • For wide rooms with low ceilings, platbands and panels with a height greater than the width are suitable, which will visually increase the height of these ceilings.

Example of door finishing

Plastic products have a rigid structure and are installed in the corners. There is a type of plastic skirting board that is specifically designed to seal the joint with the floor. Fasteners of this design are made with glue. The floor plastic skirting board is attached using a special system of provided locks at the junction of its individual elements.

There are also self-adhesive models, which are distinguished into a separate group of interior elements. They are made from plastic and foam rubber. Adhesive molding is used to close the joints. An example of such a decoration is a curb tape, which is installed at the joints between the bathroom and the tile cladding.

Polyurethane molding for framing arches

Various materials are used to decorate and emphasize the functional purpose of the arch:

  • wood;
  • stone;
  • wallpaper;
  • laminate;
  • plastic.

Each of them serves as both a decoration and a protective coating. Recently, the framing of arches with polyurethane moldings has become popular.

Interior molding

Polyurethane is a type of plastic that has a lot of positive qualities. It is durable and flexible at the same time, resistant to low temperatures, and easy to use. Decorative moldings are created from polyurethane. They are made in the form of moldings or corners. Consider in more detail the characteristic features of these products.

Stucco

You have probably met with stucco molding if you have visited old buildings with classic decoration. There you could also see beautiful arched structures.

Flexible white polyurethane molding for arches

At one time, stucco decoration was created from plaster using relief patterns. The use of stucco molding began in Venice. It was framed by cornices, doorways and other architectural structures.

Today, stucco molding is often made not of plaster, but of polyurethane. However, it has retained its characteristic features: graceful and unique curves and the white color of gypsum, which is the most popular. It is possible to paint the stucco molding in other colors, but according to tradition, in the minds of people, stucco molding appears to be a snow-white decorative element.

The use of stucco molding is not appropriate in all cases. If the house has modern features and style, then using a decorative element in a classic style with a large relief can look ridiculous and alien. In order not to create a strong contrast between the elegance of ancestors and the practicality of contemporaries, it is recommended to abandon the use of stucco molding at all or use products with a small relief.

Classics are replete with stucco

Well, if the interior of the house is imbued with the spirit of classicism, then the stucco will become the center of this element and decorate it like a cherry on a cake.

Stucco decoration is appropriate if the interior has elements that are combined with such a finish.

Installation of polyurethane products does not take much time and does not require complex work. To frame an arched opening with stucco molding, you must first prepare it. The surface is cleaned from dirt and dust, degreased and dried.

If stucco molding is used, then most likely the house is decorated in a classic style, and these are either plastered and painted walls, or patterned wallpaper. It is impossible to glue polyurethane products over the wallpaper, so you will have to remove excess areas under the decor element.

To do this, a decorative element is applied to the wall and, holding it, slightly outline the contour on the wall with an inconspicuous pencil. In no case is it allowed to cut the wallpaper along the line. If you do this, then the wallpaper and stucco molding will be in the joint, and perhaps places will appear where the wallpaper does not reach the product. It is necessary to step back from the line to the opening of 3-4 millimeters and cut off the wallpaper with a clerical knife.

Molding

Another element that can be used to make the final coating of the arched structure is the molding. Arch molding is a collective term for products from various materials that are made from:

  • plastic;
  • metal;
  • PVC;
  • wood;
  • polyurethane foam.

Aluminum moldings are durable, but not suitable for all styles, therefore they are not in great demand. And high-tech and similar directions in design are not very common.

Arch molding

Wooden moldings are also not used too often, because such structures are difficult to match in size. Each arch has its own radius and length of the arc. If you use wood products, then you need to either select and look for a suitable element, or already at the stage of manufacturing the arched doorway, observe the required dimensions for the molding.

Plastic products are much more promising: polyurethane or PVC. Polyurethane moldings and corners are in demand more than other decorative elements for an arched structure.

Moldings are flat stripes of various radii, widths, patterns and colors. You can choose the desired configuration of the product for any configuration of the doorway. Polyurethane products are popular because they are flexible, give them any shape and bend in different ways to frame the doorway.

Flexible structure facilitates installation

This is practical, because arched structures do not always turn out to be as smooth and even as possible. Today it is fashionable to decorate the house with your own hands. Therefore, sometimes it is not possible to avoid flaws. Polyurethane moldings hide flaws and irregularities that are striking.

Wall moldings

Wall moldings are not just strips. Frames are made of these elements, which can simply limit the part of the space in which the mirror or picture will hang. This selection helps to more clearly organize the space, highlight the subject.

Framed pictures from moldings

Still frames from moldings can be filled with other finishing material. Previously, tapestries, brocade and other expensive fabrics were inserted into such frames. Today, more and more often they use a different type of decorative putty, wallpaper, or just a different shade of paint.

Inside the frame made of moldings a different color

Another common technique is the design of doorways. In addition to the standard frame of the opening, there are also frames above the door. This space is usually left empty and not used in any way. So that there is no imbalance during complex decoration, molding is also glued here.

Planks above the door

With the help of wall moldings, you can visually make the ceilings higher. For this, strips are installed at a certain interval. Not only frames can be made of them. These are decorative strips, and it is not too difficult to make patterns out of them.

Patterns from moldings on the walls

All these decorating techniques require a lot of space, otherwise the room is too "overloaded". In small rooms, if they are used, then usually only strips at the junction of the wall and ceiling, or maybe a couple of thin stripes to separate different textures or colors. Most often, you can see moldings in the interior of the living room - these rooms are usually the most spacious. Moldings look good in bedrooms, but not in small ones, but at least in medium ones.

Step-by-step description of the installation process

Installation of a polyurethane ceiling plinth

The polyurethane molding is installed in two ways. It can be painted before or after installation. The advantage of the first method is the ability to glue the planks directly onto the wallpaper or finished walls.

In this case, you do not need to worry about masking tape and the accuracy of painting parts. If the molding is installed before finishing, it will not have to be removed during repairs.

For reliable fastening of polyurethane elements, acrylic, polyurethane glue, liquid nails are used. Thin strips can be planted with putty or sealant.Massive parts are fixed with self-tapping screws.

Before installation, prepare the required number of elements and mark the attachment points. Docking ends are cut at an angle using a miter box. Polyurethane parts are measured with a margin so that gaps and gaps do not form. Detailed information on how to glue and how to paint moldings from various materials is contained in this article.

Stages of installation work:

    • With the help of a molding strip, a fastening line is applied.
    • The surface is cleaned and moistened with water or a primer.
    • Glue is applied to the mounting side of the molding with dotted movements.
    • The corner elements are glued first, which press the bottom edge to the mounting line.
    • Horizontal parts are mounted between the corners, if necessary, the docking cuts are corrected.
    • Joints and crevices are covered with putty, sanded and sanded after drying.

Helpful hint: Try painting the molding before attaching it to a wall or ceiling for a cleaner finish.

Polyurethane finishes can be simple, elegant or luxurious depending on the design and style. The universal properties of the material make it possible to produce moldings with a deep embossed pattern of any shape and configuration. The light weight of the parts simplifies installation and makes it available for DIY.

From this video you will learn how to frame an arched opening with a polyurethane molding:

Interior use

Thanks to their unusual design, modern moldings will satisfy even the most unusual consumer needs. Ceiling panels should harmoniously fit into the overall style of the room. For a classic interior, moldings with simple lines are suitable, and for an interior in an ethnic style, you can safely use an unusual ornament.

If you are planning to transform the interior in a classic style (be it an apartment or a public space), then you can make a frame of panels in the center of the ceiling, and arrange a floral ornament in the corners. In this style, polyurethane stucco molding located around the perimeter will also look good.

Most often, buyers choose white and beige panels, which add airiness to the room and visually enlarge it. And for those who want to experiment with color and make a luxurious interior a la "royal palace", you can purchase gilded ornaments and decorative details.

Connoisseurs of modern style in the interior choose a minimalist design and smooth skirting boards. They help not only to mask the joints between the ceiling and walls, but also to divide the room into zones. To do this, it is enough to lay out geometric shapes on the ceiling. You can use an original design technique by placing several geometric shapes from polyurethane panels from the chandelier in a "fan" position, which will increase incrementally.

Any interior can be decorated with moldings in accordance with a specific style. So, high-tech can be supplemented with elements with chrome or metal texture, pop art involves the use of bright colors and contrasting techniques, and constructivism and minimalism accept a restrained design with a minimum of details, for example, smooth baseboards and square-shaped figures.

An ordinary white ceiling without decoration is a rather boring sight, so you should turn on your imagination and, in cooperation with designers and craftsmen, create your dream home. A huge selection of decorative elements for finishing ceilings is amazing and can satisfy the needs of people with all tastes and financial capabilities.

Wall decoration with moldings: color solutions

By choosing the right color for the moldings, delightful architectural masterpieces can be created. To do this, you need to plan everything and add a little imagination.

Light molding will look great on a dark background or in poorly lit rooms.This can be used to decorate not only walls, but also doors, ceilings and pieces of furniture.

Light molding on a dark background

To create comfort and coziness, pastel shades should be introduced into recreation areas, as well as into the living room - with the help of such moldings you can concentrate your attention on paintings, memorable photographs and other interior items

Pastel shades

To create an original interior, you can safely use bright or colored moldings. They should be painted a few tones above or below the wall color or in rich shades.

Tips: decorating the room with moldings

  • Patterned moldings will perfectly complement the decor of the doors. Cover the doorway with moldings, stick several baguettes on the door and paint them in one color. Such a solution will look especially good if you choose plinths of the same shape and color;
  • Window frames decorated with moldings look beautiful. However, modern design does not imply windows with patterns, but for a classic style this is quite acceptable. In addition, windows decorated with moldings around the perimeter visually increase in size;
  • With the help of vertical and corner moldings, you can create a semblance of a column on one of the walls;
  • Moldings are a great decor for a fireplace, but in this case you should only use wide moldings made of sturdy material.

People have been using moldings in decor for a long time and it is safe to say that this finishing material has practically no flaws and has confidently passed the test of time.

Application of polyurethane moldings

Ceiling plinth - its purpose is to hide the wall-to-ceiling joint, small surface irregularities. In addition to functional properties, polyurethane linings are able to give the ceiling an aesthetic beauty due to the "stucco" ceiling molding.

Polyurethane ceiling moldings can transform a flat ceiling. Any of your ideas can be translated into reality - you can decorate the chandelier with a rosette around it, perform geometry-interesting compositions with imitation of stucco decorations. It is much easier than a drywall ceiling, and the result can be exclusive.

Sketch in advance a sketch, prepare cut-to-size blanks and glue them according to the sketch. In addition, an interesting effect can be achieved by painting the polyurethane in a different tone, but close to the color of the ceiling. The decoration of interior doors with polyurethane products makes it possible to change the design of the doors, give them a more respectable look, decorate them with a peculiar pattern, and update the old door.

In addition, they can be used as trims for doors and windows. Choose planks that are in tune with the overall look of the room - with or without a pattern - all at your discretion. Paint a tone or a couple of tones darker or lighter than a window or door. You can also decorate the space above the opening.

Polyurethane furniture parts will be a good addition to furniture decoration. You can extend the life of an outdated cabinet in a new design. Polyurethane looks especially impressive in gilding, in silver color.

False - window. If the wall is large in area and seems bare, then you can make a false window to revive it. This is done simply. Take a photo wallpaper, for example, with a picture of nature, a summer sunny day - whatever you like and stick it on the wall. Apply plexiglass on top and frame the platband and mount the polyurethane bindings. The color of the platband and bindings is formed in accordance with the overall design of the room.

Decoration of decor items - with the help of moldings, you can frame paintings, mirrors, giving them sophistication, and an arch made of polyurethane products looks rich and luxurious.
