Classes

In total, four classes of products can be distinguished: "A", "B", "C" and premium.

• Class "B". In this case, several cracks, knots and resin pockets are allowed. But for finishing it is still not the right option.

Choice: characteristics

Choosing a lining for finishing, you can face difficulties from a misunderstanding of what are the differences between ordinary lining and euro lining. And everything concerns the size, mounting profile, humidity and cost.

In general, wooden lining is produced in accordance with GOST 8242-88. An ordinary board has a width of up to 15 cm, a thickness of 1.2-2.5 cm, a length of up to 6 m. Standard dimensions of a lining:

• thickness - 1.3, 1.6, 1.9 cm;
• profile width of the lining - 8, 10, 11, 12 cm;
• the length depends on the standards established by the manufacturer, but it cannot exceed 6 m.

Another difference is the size of the spike. Euro lining has a spike size of 8-9 mm, and the usual one is 4-6 mm.

There are four product classes in total: "A", "B", "C" and premium. Euro lining is packed in a pack of 10 pieces. Weight is determined by the size of the products: the larger they are, the more weight.

There is also a certain separation of materials, taking into account the place of installation. Thus, conifers are not recommended for use in rooms with high temperatures. For such purposes, it is better to use hardwood products. However, needles have their own advantage: unlike other breeds, they do not darken over time.

Pine

It is a sound species of conifers. That is, pine has a slightly pinkish core with resinous passages. Its smell is more intense precisely because of the release of resins. Rotten and rotten knots are much more common in pine. They are called tobacco because of their brownish color. When processing wood, these knots are practically erased into powder due to their loose structure. By itself, wood is harder and drier than spruce. Also, due to its natural properties, pine is less susceptible to the development of fungus and mold. But with the correct processing of the lining, as well as with the correct organization of ventilation in the room, both materials will not be susceptible to the development of harmful microorganisms.

Pine contains slightly more lignin, a substance that gives strength to the material. In percentage terms, it is equal to 28.9, which is slightly more than that of spruce. However, the indicator is not very significant.

Classes

It should be said that classes or grade are an important difference between euro lining made of any material. They determine its appearance and basic characteristics. The following varieties are divided:

• "Extra";
• "A";
• "V";
• "WITH".

The lowest - grade "C" - allows the presence of small knots, unpolished surface and small cracks. Most often, this material is used for paintable finishes.

When choosing a lining, you need to pay attention not only to wood defects, but also to the geometry of the board. If it is strongly bent or twisted along its length, then it will be very difficult to make an even cladding.

In this case, locks and fastening clamps will not help you. When trying to fix a deformed board in one plane, internal stresses can tear off the spike or cause cracks in the slotted lock.

When choosing lining, reject boards with resin pockets and single (falling out) knots. It is very difficult to deal with the release of resin to the surface of the wood, and a knot falling out can spoil the appearance of the cladding.
