Siberian larch. Planting a plant
Siberian larch is an amazing coniferous plant that completely sheds all its needles in autumn, and with the arrival of spring it is again covered with thorny green needles. Many gardeners acquire this tree due to its extreme unpretentiousness, combined with accuracy, beauty and an unusually attractive exotic appearance. Consider how this plant should be planted on the site.
Siberian larch will grow best in the sun. If you do not want to grow a huge tree or are afraid that it simply will not have enough space on the site, this is a great reason to study the art of bonsai. Fortunately, this plant survives pruning very well. Before planting seedlings, which should be done in early spring or early autumn, it is advisable to prepare the soil by fertilizing it with a small amount of peat and sand, but in no case with humus, and water it abundantly immediately after planting the tree. By the way, abundant watering will be required not only for a young seedling, but also for a mature tree, because this breed tolerates heat and drought badly enough.
If there is no opportunity to purchase seedlings, you can grow larch from seeds carefully extracted from light cones and sown in a greenhouse or simply in plastic cups with a nutrient mixture at the very beginning of April. As soon as the trees sprout, they should be transplanted into the largest possible containers. This is important enough, since the plant does not tolerate thickening well. Larch will require careful maintenance only for the first three to four years.
