Sowing pepper seeds for seedlings
Sowing pepper seeds for seedlings should be started by stimulating the seeds. To do this, the seeds must be immersed in a thermos with water, the temperature of which is about 50 degrees. After 20 minutes, remove the seeds, wrap them in a damp cloth and place them under the freezer in the refrigerator for several hours. After this "hardening", you can immediately start sowing pepper.
The height of the container for planting should be about 10 cm.Filling it half the height, the earth (it must be moistened) must be tamped a little, then spread the seeds according to the 2 cm by 2 cm pattern.
Then add another 5 cm of earth, then compact it again. Covering with foil, place the sowing in a warm place.
Important: sowing pepper seeds for seedlings is considered correct if the depth is 4 cm, in which case the root system is formed deep enough and the bush will be able to withstand the fruits.
When to wait for the first shoots?
- if the soil temperature is 27-31 ° C, the pepper will rise quickly - on the 7th day;
- at a temperature of 26-27 ° C - for 12-14 days;
- at a temperature of 20-22 ° C - after 20 days;
- at temperatures below 20 ° C, the seeds will not sprout.
As soon as the first shoots loops appear, the container must be placed under a daylight lamp and the temperature must be reduced to 16 ° C, and after 5 days it must be increased again, to 23-24 ° C.
It should be remembered that pepper is a heat-loving plant, therefore it is not recommended to place it near the glass of the window, but there should be enough light, otherwise the seedlings will be thin and weak.
It is necessary to feed pepper seedlings as soon as the first leaves appear.
