How to germinate buckwheat
Buckwheat rightfully occupies a leading position in terms of germination rate and usefulness among all cereals. It contains zinc, magnesium, iron, potassium, B vitamins, as well as E and C. And this is not a complete list of useful elements that protect our health. Buckwheat seeds acquire great usefulness in a germinated form. The amount of antioxidants increases 2 times, and vitamin C almost 20 times.
How to germinate buckwheat?
It is very easy to do it at home. For this you need to take:
- green peeled buckwheat;
- container with a lid;
- clean water.
Buckwheat seeds must be carefully rinsed under running water and placed in a prepared container. Pour in water in the ratio ¼, where 4 parts are water. Leave the seeds for 3 hours. Attention! The seeds tend to swell quickly; if left in water for a longer time, mucus can form. If this happens, then the buckwheat should be washed again with water. If the seeds are left in water for a long time, they can ferment and deteriorate.
After 2-3 hours, you need to drain the water and evenly distribute the buckwheat along the bottom of the container. Cover it with a lid, but so that the air flow does not stop. After that, you should leave the seeds in a dark place for 13-20 hours. During this time, they hatch. The length of the sprout should reach 1-2 cm. The sprouts reach the optimum size in 1-2 days.
You can eat green sprouted buckwheat as an independent dish or in the form of salads. The seeds can be salted and added with oils, can be used as a thickener in soups, purees and sauces, and even added to sweets.
Note! You don't have to ask yourself the question “how to germinate buckwheat”, but just use it raw. And remember, only peeled green buckwheat is suitable for germination.
