How to propagate geranium
Geranium or pelargonium is a plant cultivated by man for a long time. It is used for decorative purposes, for gardening at home, and also serves as a source of nutrients for the body. So pelargonium was treated in ancient times. It soothes the nerves and heals the stomach, relieves acne and fungus, and has many more healing properties. Feng shui geranium in the home helps to achieve personal success and develop a sense of humor.
There are many types of this plant, among which you can choose for any color and taste. Fluffy, all in bloom, geranium attracts attention, pleases the eye with its rainbow range. But in order to make friends with her, you need to know how to propagate geraniums and properly care for her.
You can propagate it in different ways: by seeds and dividing the bush, but grafting is most often and effectively used in this case. At the same time, Pelargonium takes root perfectly and does not lose its varietal properties. Unless the mother plant is unhealthy or was grown from seed.
When cutting off the cuttings, it is better to do the lower cut immediately under the bud (so that the remainder does not rot), and the upper one above the bud (so that the stem grows more evenly and neatly). In order not to confuse the top and bottom, you can make different cuts: from the top - straight, and from the bottom - oblique. For roots to appear faster, place the stem in an opaque bowl of water. The water must be changed every two to three days.
If your geranium decided to become a "model" and drove up, do not be afraid to cut off the top of it. So the bush will be more voluminous, lush, instead of sticking out with a sloppy stem.
