As you know, pelargonium tolerates propagation by cuttings safely. This method is also common as seed. From a theoretical point of view, it is very simple, but it takes a little time.

Cutting geraniums is very convenient to consider step by step. Let's try to do this too:

• Step one - you need to choose the time for grafting. Spring is most favorable from the very beginning, as well as the first part of summer;
• To get cuttings, it is enough to cut geraniums every spring, and then they are obtained during the development of the bush, when the elongated shoots are shortened;
• If you need a lot of cuttings, you will have to take care of uterine geraniums;
• After cutting, the shoots must be divided into cuttings of short sizes, leaving the leaves, keeping the length of 5-10 cm;
• It is necessary to ensure that the lower cut is under the kidney, from where the roots usually appear;
• If a stem remains below the bud, there is a risk that it will rot;
• An upper correct cut is also needed - it is arranged above the kidney;
• It is not necessary to leave the stumps from the stem, otherwise the growth will go sloppy, to the side;
• It is desirable that the lower cut goes obliquely, and the upper one - straight;
• Now the matter is small - the handle is installed in a glass of water, preferably of an opaque type, since the roots prefer darkening.

This is the whole main task. We are waiting for the roots. It is advisable to place the workpiece in the sun. We change the water every few days. Usually, it takes about a week for the roots to appear, and then they grow back very quickly. It must be remembered that Pelargonium propagation by cuttings will survive better if it itself is obtained in the same way, although a bush from seeds can take root, but it will take more time.
