Growing nasturtium seedlings

Nasturtium is a beautiful and not whimsical plant that blooms with beautiful flowers, similar to bells, throughout almost the entire summer. The most popular with us are curly nasturtium and large nasturtium. Nasturtium is loved by gardeners not only for its unpretentiousness, but also for its bright flowers that can be orange, red or yellow. Nasturtium is used for flower beds, borders, flower beds, and as an ampel plant in vertical gardening.

Growing nasturtium seedlings is not difficult, although nasturtium grows well when planted directly in the ground.

For seedlings, nasturtium seeds are planted in March - April in the soil, which is placed in peat pots. Seedlings should be watered regularly and placed in a lighted place. It is necessary to transplant seedlings when all the frosts are gone directly from the peat pot and be very careful, since the nasturtium seedlings do not like transplanting. Therefore, direct planting into the ground is more preferable. However, many growers prefer nasturtium seedlings to achieve early flowering.

Nasturtium loves light, this is her only whim, it can grow in light partial shade, but if the shoots are too elongated and the plant blooms little, then most likely the shadow is too thick for her. Too fertile soil, in which there is a lot of fertilizer, manure, will have a bad effect on nasturtium, since the green mass will begin to grow, and flowering will be at zero. But phosphorus, potash fertilizers are great for nasturtium, they need to be applied every month during the flowering period.

Nasturtium prefers moderate watering, and when the plant is in bloom, it should be watered only when the soil is very dry, as excessive watering will reduce flowering.
