Violets and their care. Features of the content
Violet can be safely called one of the most frequent residents of home windowsills. This beautiful plant with such a variety of colors is not uncommon for a long time. But violets and their care have their own characteristics that you need to pay attention to.
The main condition for leaving: an abundance of light without direct sunlight, especially at noon. Better to keep violets on the north window. Of course, the sun can appear on the windowsill in the evening, but the rays of the setting sun will not harm.
Violets and their care
It is believed that a spoonful of earth and a glass of yogurt as a pot are enough for violets, but it will be larger if you take a larger pot. Although, of course, you need to know when to stop, in too large pots the plant will simply "get lost".
Violets need good drainage, so almost half of the pot is covered with expanded clay, a piece of charcoal is placed, and then ordinary earth is poured.
One of the most important things to care for is watering. Warm water should come from below. About once a week, a pot of violets is placed in a deep bowl of water almost to the edge of the pot. You can submerge it in water at night or in the morning until evening. More frequent watering and watering from above provokes decay of roots and leaves. Water the violets after the earthen coma is completely dry.
There is a way to tell when a violet needs water. In such a violet, the flowers are not collected in a single cap of inflorescences at the top, but grow from the axils of the leaves, which are on long petioles, that is, from the sides. When a violet needs water, the leaves practically lie "lifeless" on the windowsill.
Fertilizer is applied during the flowering period of violets twice a month. During the rest period - once every 3-4 weeks.
There is no need to transplant violets, they only change the ground, planting in the same pots.
Thank you for telling me how to properly water the violet. To be honest, I have never used bottom irrigation.
And I also say a huge thank you to you! Violets have never taken root with me, because I always watered them like ordinary flowers - just in a pot. They disappeared all the time and I stopped breeding them.
