Indoor eustoma - one plant will replace a whole bouquet

Indoor eustoma is a plant belonging to the gentian family. For her grace, she received many names: prairie gentian, beautiful bowl, Texas bell.

The indoor eustoma is unusually beautiful and delicate, especially against the background of roses. Starting to open the buds, it resembles a rose, as the flowers open, they become like a tulip, fully open flowers strongly resemble a poppy. The bud of the eustoma is always white, but the petals often turn pink or purple as they "ripen". There are varieties with white, pink and blue tints.

Of course, to see the growth and flowering of this exotic plant, you need patience, because at first the indoor eustoma grows very slowly. It can take up to 7 months or more before the buds open.

Among the numerous varieties of eustoma, there are specimens with long peduncles suitable for cutting, and undersized compact forms used for indoor cultivation. In the wild conditions of its homeland - North America - eustoma is a perennial shrub that grows in sunny warm areas. At home, eustoma usually grows as a biennial or biennial.

For different periods of flowering, seeds are sown at almost any time of the year: in winter - in January-February, in spring - in April or in August-September. The earth should be light.

Eustoma needs abundant watering, frequent spraying of leaves, drying out of the soil is unacceptable. A weekly feeding of flowering plants promotes long and lush flowering.

What a beautiful plant! It's a pity, very rare, I have not met him here. Eustoma flowers really look like Bells and Mallow flowers. This is a garden flower that grows in our courtyards.
