A rare tenderness. Baikal anemone

Bakal's nature is diverse and beautiful, it gives people many useful plants, amazing landscapes and delightful air. The snow-white daughter of the wind, the Baikal anemone, also grows here. The genus of anemone is large enough, but this species is gradually disappearing from the face of the earth, it is already listed in the Red Book and it is not known whether it will be possible to slow down this destructive process.

Anemone Baikal has elegant white inflorescences and rather decorative, "carved" leaves, which form a dense, velvety carpet. This slender beauty grows up to 40-50 centimeters. A graceful plant on a thin stem attracts the attention of passers-by, which often destroys itself. It is classified as endemic because its range is limited to one or two locations on the planet.

The Baikal anemone prefers quiet moist forests, birch and fir, moss and tall grasses in subalpine meadows. To grow it, you need to have rich soil. It is better to sow before winter or cold stratification for 3-5 months.

To preserve this unique representative of the local flora, Russian scientists recommend to cultivate it more widely as an ornamental plant, not to collect it in bouquets, and try to control the population themselves.

One of the reasons for the disappearance of not only anemone, but also many other plants, was the man himself. The results of his industrial activities are destroying our planet. If we do not stop in time, do not rethink our materialistic and narrow-minded approaches, we can be left with nothing.
