Growing white roses: choosing a place and planting
The successful cultivation of white roses is possible only if the correct planting site for these whimsical flower queens is selected. All this plant needs is a sufficient amount of light, moisture and air. The ideal place for them would be an area flooded with sunlight, open, but at the same time protected from strong winds. It is definitely not worth planting them near the walls of houses, even if we are talking about climbing roses that will create a beautiful green wall. In such areas, the air humidity is quite high, and this inevitably leads to the occurrence of various diseases. In addition, it is around the foundations that the snow melts the fastest, so the vegetation period for the plants located near it begins a little earlier. And this is by no means good, since the earth may not yet be warmed up enough.
The successful cultivation of white roses also requires good drainage in the selected area. If possible, it is worth raising the soil level under the flower bed somewhat so that water does not stagnate on it.
Planting roses should begin in early May, placing the bushes in pits with a layer of drainage of sand and gravel, filled with rotted manure, fertile soil, peat and sand. Thin, weak shoots should be cut from newly planted bushes: this stimulates the growth of new ones. It is also very important to put the seedlings in a bucket of clean water a few hours before planting. The planted shoots must be covered or covered with non-woven material, which will protect them from the bright spring sun. When the length of the shoots reaches five centimeters, the shelter should be removed.
