Pentas lanceolate
Pentas lanceolate is an evergreen perennial plant that belongs to shrubs. It comes from Africa, therefore it belongs to heat-loving plants and in our country it is grown, as a rule, only in indoor conditions. It has gained quite a lot of popularity not only due to its beautiful shape and cute oblong leaves, but also due to the beautiful flowers that usually bloom in the spring and do not leave the lanceolate pentas until autumn.
Depending on the type of plant, flowers can have different colors, but at the same time they are all united by a common recognizable shape. The flowers of the pentas lanceolate have outlines that resemble a five-pointed star, and they are combined into inflorescences, in most cases having a spherical shape, often reaching a size of about 10 cm in diameter.
Lanceolate pentas loves good lighting and direct sunlight, so the pot with this plant should be placed in the sunniest place. He needs moderate watering, but in cases where the temperature in the room where he is located exceeds 18 degrees, the plant will need regular spraying.
It is advisable for this type of indoor plants to provide a cooler temperature in winter, therefore it is recommended to put the lanceolate pentas on the balcony or veranda if the temperature there is at least 10 degrees.
With proper care and regular molding, pentas lanceolate reaches a height of 50-80 cm when grown at home. It propagates by cuttings and seeds.
