Bouquet of tulips. How to keep it for a long time
The tulip is a beautiful goblet flower. It is grown in gardens, on balconies, in flowerpots, used to create flower beds and alpine slides. However, most often this plant is cultivated in greenhouses for cutting. It is very pleasant to receive a bouquet of tulips from your beloved man, especially in winter and early spring, and I want to keep it longer. To do this, do not rush to put the gift in a vase of water, but cut the stems under running water, wrap the whole flowers in damp paper and put in a cool place (you can put it in the refrigerator). These plants do not like sudden changes in temperature, they need to gradually get used to new conditions.
If the buds are not opened, then the bouquet can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, for opened buds one day is enough. Flowers will be saturated with moisture, freshen up and slow down their blooming. After removing the plants from the refrigerator and let them warm to room temperature without unpacking. Then they can be put into water. Choose a place for the vase so that the tulip bouquet is not exposed to drafts, ultraviolet radiation and heat from radiators. Do not place the vase on a windowsill.
Pour settled water so that chlorine evaporates from it, and it warms up to room temperature. Use rainwater if possible. To keep it from acidifying, add some regular laundry detergent, an aspirin tablet, or table salt. In stores for this purpose, you can buy special disinfectants. Before placing the bouquet, it is recommended to treat the vase with a solution of potassium permanganate. Change the water often, the bouquet will "drink" it very quickly.
