Camassia - growing and care
Camassia is a bulbous perennial flower that belongs to the lily species. This plant is native to North America, but you can also find it here. Recently, camassia, the cultivation of which does not require too much effort, is becoming more and more popular among flower growers in our country.
Camassia is a fairly unpretentious plant. It can grow both in full sun and in moderately shaded areas. Camassia, which can be grown both with seeds and with bulbs, takes root quite easily, and it needs additional watering, as a rule, only during the growing season.
Kamasia prefers clay soils and grows well in loamy soils. In autumn, it is advisable to mulch the soil where Camassia grows with peat. Top dressing of this plant is usually recommended only once a year in early spring, when the snow has not melted yet.
This flower is represented by several different species, each of which has quite attractive flowers that form lush inflorescences. Camassia looks great both as a single planting and as part of various compositions. This plant usually looks especially advantageous against the background of conifers. Excellent compatibility and the ability to get along with other plants have provided camassia with a fairly wide application in the field of landscape design.
Camassia blooms usually in June and the duration of flowering, depending on the species, is from 12 to 20 days. These flowers look great both on lawns and in bouquets, so they can decorate any garden and interior.
