Growing lupine from seeds
Lupine is a beautiful perennial plant that can grow up to one and a half meters high. Lupine leaves are rather long (sometimes up to 80 centimeters), and the inflorescences are racemose.
The inflorescence itself is represented by moth flowers, which are located very tightly to each other. Moreover, their number in one inflorescence can be up to 170 pieces. The diameter of one flower is about two centimeters. The inflorescence can be either one-color or two-color. Abundant flowering can be observed in the second half of May.
Growing lupine from seeds is not difficult, since the plant is unpretentious. The plant develops best in open sunny areas or in partial shade. The soil for lupine should be loose and nutritious with a neutral level of acidity. It should also be borne in mind that the plant does not tolerate stagnant moisture.
Lupine seeds are quite large, in one gram there can be up to 45 pieces. Growing lupine from seeds begins in late autumn or early spring. Seeds are sown directly into the ground at a permanent location. It is recommended to maintain a distance between seeds of about 30-40 centimeters. You can plant two or three seeds in one nest. The recommended planting depth is about two centimeters.
After the shoots give 2-3 leaves, the extra seedlings can be removed and transplanted to another place.
Lupine seeds can be sown in the summer, and bloom can only be expected next year. Only young plants can be transplanted, since the old ones do not take root well in a new place.
This is a perennial plant, which, indeed, is distinguished by its beauty, for a long time it grew without any special care in our flower garden, but I did not know that it was called Lupine.
