Favorite way to germinate grape cuttings
Having worked out my own specific method of how to germinate grape cuttings, I decided to share it on the Internet. This lesson is simple and anyone can use it in an apartment.
- We buy cuttings without traces of diseases and with pronounced buds in a store or on the market. We begin to germinate in late February or early March, and in April we plant it in the ground.
- Refresh the lower cut of the cutting - shorten it by a centimeter, maximum two. We soak for two to three days in a basin with settled tap water, but it is best to use clean warm melt water. Pour a few tablespoons of potassium permanganate there to protect the cuttings from harmful bacteria.
- While the grape cuttings are soaking, take a half-liter jar, line the bottom with cotton wool, put a piece of charcoal, pour water so that its level slightly exceeds the layer of cotton wool. We throw a couple of crystals of potassium permanganate for disinfection.
- We install the cuttings in a jar, and put a plastic bag on top. We put it on the windowsill, it is important that there is a heating battery under it. Wonderful! Our home greenhouse is ready, and now you know how to germinate grape cuttings.
Do not forget to make sure that the water level does not drop. Add water every three to four days. Then remove the bag for 15-20 minutes to allow air to flow. Prevent cuttings from rotting and mildew. Drought for cuttings is not as dangerous as excess moisture.
There are, of course, other ways to germinate grape cuttings, but this one is my favorite.
