Raspberry bush remontant
The bush of remontant raspberry yields a harvest already in the first year after planting. It is good to grow in areas where summers are relatively short in duration. It is believed that remontant raspberries are less capricious and easier to care for.
Planting is carried out in the fall or spring. The seedlings must have a fairly well-developed root system. And the length of the ground part is usually from 25 to 30 cm. If you want to plant seedlings in the fall, then this is done only at the beginning of September. The rest of the time is not suitable, since the roots are not strong enough, and the seedlings may not take root in the soil, and, accordingly, may not survive the upcoming wintering.
Therefore, if you are a little "late", then it is better to postpone the landing in the spring. The only thing, for the winter, dig in the seedlings in a slightly inclined position, and do not forget to water them regularly. In the spring, raspberries can be successfully rooted.
As you can see, planting raspberries in autumn or spring has its own characteristics. It bears fruit until the first frost. The main thing is to water it abundantly, as well as to introduce a complex of mineral fertilizers with a high content of phosphorus and potassium into the soil.
To prevent the development of fungal infections and other diseases, plant raspberries in rows, the distance between which should be 1-3 meters. If you intend to use trellises, then the distance is reduced to 30 cm. This kind of nuances should be taken into account if you want to collect a bountiful harvest every year and enjoy the flowering of this shrub constantly.
We have several bushes of remontant raspberries growing. It has large, fragrant berries. This variety of raspberries, in our season, bears fruit twice. During the summer season, we weed, fertilize and water the raspberries.
