When they once uttered the well-known phrase: "Beauty will save our world", perhaps they contemplated a tropical plant blooming with scarlet flowers, similar to stars or gramophone, under the strange name of kvamoklit.
Overseas guest
In the homeland of kvamoklita - southern Mexico, cypress lianais probably not particularly different among similar plants. In our area, this overseas guest looks very impressive and exotic. The length of its strong, curly stems can reach five meters. Their peculiarity is that they can twist so tightly around each other that they turn into a tight green lump.

An interesting feature of kvamoklite flowers is that they radically change their color as they bloom, this is especially characteristic of the lobed kvamoklite variety. Being in buds, they have a red-coral color, as they bloom, the flower acquires a bright orange hue, and in the full flowering phase it becomes pale yellow. One can imagine this royal robe studded with multi-colored pearls.
Growing conditions
The kvamoklite plant, which cannot be called difficult to grow, has delicate feathery leaves that resemble the paws of a spruce. It is used to decorate balconies and decorate walls, fences, hedges. With the help of kvamoklite, you can create a whole flower pyramid that will fit into your landscape design.
Seeds can be planted directly in open ground, but on condition that there will be no frost. If there is a likelihood of their occurrence for your climatic region, then it is advisable to plant kvamoklite seeds in a container in March, and plant seedlings in open ground in May.
Note that feathery kvamoklite is unpretentious in relation to the soil. An ordinary sandy-humus garden soil is suitable for him. However, when choosing a location, give preference to sunny areas.
Protection and feeding
Kvamoklit, a photo of which allows you to imagine its appearance, needs to be tied up in order to direct its growth. The plant also needs moderate watering and weekly feeding. As for pests, it is susceptible to spiderweb lesions. tick... To combat it, it is necessary not only to frequently sprinkle the plant with cold water, but also to use special chemicals.
You can find different types of kvamoklite that have similar care features, but different flowering periods. For example, kvamoklit Star-beauty, despite its beautiful flowers, blooms only from June to July, and then loses its original decorative effect. But kvamoklit Cypress liana, on the contrary, pleases the eyes for a long time with abundant flowering.

Depending on the type, kvamoklit can hurt for a long time and even die as a result transplants, so growing it for seedlings is risky. But sowing seeds directly into the ground in our climatic conditions is also not desirable because of the dangerous probability of frost. If you wait for warmth and sow later, then it will bloom late, not having enough time for the seeds to ripen.
The following method is proposed: sow seeds directly into the ground, at the sowing site, constructing a semblance of a personal greenhouse for this plant. It is really worth it and will generously thank you for your attention and care. Water the plant often enough and in moderation.
