Kidney mite on currants. What is this beast and how to deal with it

We plant, we grow, everything is good for pests. How difficult it is for a gardener to give his harvest to numerous parasites who are just waiting for an opportunity to enter our domain. Here is the currant, this valuable source of vitamins, which we collect bit by bit and harvest for the winter, has one worst enemy called the kidney mite. Although he is small, he is smart in damaging other people's property. It is all the more difficult to fight this tiny villain because he is shown just at the time of flowering, when it is forbidden to treat plants with chemicals (you can harm pollinating insects).

A kidney mite on currants makes itself felt when the first buds appear (hence the name). It is there, in a cozy, not yet unfolded leaf, that the female lays her eggs. And when the spoiled, loose kidney somehow unfolds, not one, but a whole company of ticks comes out, which massively spread to healthy places. By the fall, already new infected buds swell.

How should this harmful insect be dealt with? First of all, prevention is important. Plants should be carefully examined and damaged buds removed while the mite is still inside. You should buy new seedlings in special nurseries or special stores. If this is not possible, you can treat the plant even before planting by dipping it into a solution (10 l of water, 10 g of agrovertin, 40 g of colloidal sulfur).

If the bushes are badly damaged, they should be cut or even uprooted. This is the only way you can completely get rid of the kidney mite ..
